I have Menzerna IP. Ive read that it takes longer than DACP to break down. Does it mean that it takes longer to start working properly on the car?

Im looking for something that will act quicker and with great results. Yesterday I tried IP on a car which really had some heavy swilrs. Since I didnt had all day for it, I only gave it a single pass with yellow pad at 6. So It only removed anout 50% of the swirls.

You definitely need more passes. 1 Pass will not at all break down the fine abrasives in IP. The PC won't heat the surface enough. Get a rotary for that work if your experienced. Overlap alot and just inspect the surface. Thats the bad part of a PC, as it will take many times to polish

:(

Yeah, trying to do "rotary work" by PC is problematic at best and can be a lot harder on the paint than just using a rotary (well, using one with some common sense). The more aggressive products just don't break down when used by PC and you can end up with a really scoured finish that requires taking off way too much paint. Sometimes you can't even bring it back- you replace a bad scratch with a dull surface. It's funny how "just work the paint longer with the PC" doesn't always work compared to using a rotary.

If I can't do it with something like 1Z Ultra/Extra (the strongest stuff I'd use by PC) then I'd either get hold of a rotary of learn to live with it. But you might look into the Hi-Temp stuff at TOL. Some of their more aggressive products are supposedly OK by hand/PC.

Mike had commented previously about using ScratchX with the PC. I used to use it by hand to remove swirls and scratches. I have not tried it with the PC yet but I plan to soon.

ScratchX is not designed or recommend for use by machine.

Exactly. It always kinda bugs me when people try and use it with a machine. Its a good scratch remover and paint swap remover, but I wouldn't use it by PC. There are better products that are made to work with a machine.

I did this with a PC and DACP. It just takes some time. I don't think I spent more than 10 minutes on that hood with the PC.

When working with a PC you cant do anything with one pass and get great results. Id recommend going with something like a CMA orange pad/ip then work your way down form there.

I think everyone comes across a time when they've worked a section and after one pass only saw minimal results. You need to work most products in to get the results you looking for, especially on a SMR.
