Which Gilmour Foamaster?

Put the quick connector with the shutoff at the business end of the hose. (You can get quick connect attachments for every hose end item you use. Most hardware stores will sell kits and individual fittings.) When you change out foam gun, sprayer, or nozzle, you can cut off the waterflow at hose end while you switch and not have to go to the spigot. I usually cut off hose end then depress trigger on the nozzle to let pressure out of the fixture and then detach it. Or leave water in the fixture for a nice quick cooling burst of water as you undo the quick connect.,.. :heelclick

I recently got a set of these and it is best money I have spent in ages...

dont you only need 1 quick connector since it connects to 1 hose, then you can switch foam gun and nozzle? Why need a kit? I think im going to get that fire hose from sears. Its $17. All my cheap plastic ones broke and busted open (water spraying out the side of the nozzle while attached). Does it matter what quick connector you put on. There was one with a finger level on this forum that someone had.

I'll try to explain how I have mine set up

Yeah yeah...:showpics

On the end of the hose I have a female brass quick disconnect. After this I have a shutoff and then a second quick disconnect. The "extra" quick disconnect allows whatever's on the hose to rotate so the shutoff control can be positioned wherever I want it (very important ergonomically speaking).

I don't use the pistol grip that came with the foamgun- I take it apart at the central disconnect and leave the male quick disconnect on the foamgun so I can attach it to that second (female) quick disconnect on the end of the hose. I control the foamgun's output with the shutoff (there are different types of shutoffs and you should be able to find one that's easy to operate with one finger or your thumb).

FWIW, I now use separate hoses for the foamgun and for the rinse nozzle. I just set the foamgun down across the rinse bucket and grab the rinse hose, much more convenient than switching stuff back and forth on a single hose.

FWIW#2 I have reduntant systems on each side of the washbay...for a total of four hoses, two foamguns, two rinse nozzles (and wash and rinse buckets on each side too). Makes a huge difference when I'm doing the larger vehicles, not so much of one when doing the small cars.
