I have used Mother's and Clay Magic Blue bar, found locally, I prefer Clay Magic, and it seems to do the job well. I want to try a super fine clay. Only problem is most brands don't state the aggressiveness. Rumor has it that white clay is the least aggressive or the finest grade. I'm not sure about this though. I plan to try the Four Star clay being that it's white. Anyone?

I use TOTL's and Red Clay Magic. TOTL is very fine and very cheap @ $15/bar and does what I need it to do. The Red CM bar I use because I can get it easily. I don't use the red bar that much and only go through 2 bars a year, using it mostly for rocker panels/lower door.

Color does not necessarily matter, especially when you jump from one company to another. We can get clay made in a variety of colors and still have NO abrasives in it.

TD, I've personally talked to both of the mentioned clay manufacturers and you would be surprised in the amount of differeneces between them.....quality clay is the way to go!
Thanks Nick, I will keep that in mind next time I need to order. I do like the clay that i bought at Detailsplus though.

Anybody know where to get Clay bulk? I need to buy 10 pcs at a time.. cheaper the better.

And.. I need to know a good ingredient clay lube.

Thanks

I have the blackfire clay and it seems to be very nice I used the mothers and ya it would get crumbly. Blakckfire is a poly clay and if your not using enough lube it stick's to your hand but other then that it's a great product.

I've used bars from Adams, Four Star, and most recently Beautyshine. I've found that the Adams is a bit more soft and flexible. It might be slightly less aggressive than the others, but I could also be imagining it. To be honest, all three are on the shelf and I can't say that I have a preference. I really like Premium Auto Care and buy most of my stuff from them, so I'll probably just stick with Four Star in the future.

Take care,
Jerry

I've used Zaino, Clay Magic and Recently TOTL. The TOTL is the best deal of the bunch in that you get a huge bar of it for only $15...the same size clay magic bar is $25. I like the Clay Magic best overall though as I find I get slight Marring from the TOTL bar because it's soo sticky that it tends to grab on the surface no matter how well lubricated it is. If you're polishing afterwords it's really not a big deal BUT still a scarry deal none the less. That's why I went back to the Clay Magic Blue because I have no problems with marring from this bar.
