Which brands/companies do you TRUST?

Good question. I would pick 1Z and Jeff's Werkstatt. I really trust both.

..and knock it out, bro! Right on, knock it out.

1Z seems like an "honest" line of products with a strong company backing them. I've had great luck with JW products, but I'm not sure how much say he actually has in the chemical composition of the products.

I trust the company that gets me my product ASAP and that product does what it says it does. The price I paid was all up to me if I want to buy it or not. With that said I enjoy trying many companys products and I might use PB QD and FK1, QD as my favorite 2 then on to another product like I am stuck on menzerna polishes they are the best I have ever used, and it goes on and on but I really can't say I dont trust any of them they all make good products you just have to find who makes the best one and if it fits your budget.

I have to say that I am also a “less is more type even though I have about 15 different brands on my shelves. If you’ve read my posts, you know that I’m a Zymol loyalist. Problem is, Zymol has nothing for some heavy duty paint correction so I tried other brands . . .

I polish with Optimum and Menzerna. Meg’s Detailer line is a great value when you consider you mix some of their stuff with distilled water. For my other brands, I have those only because they were on a ridiculous sale or got them as part of a package. Which brings me to the stores . . .

I purchase mostly from Autogeek mainly because they have various brands in one stop. But I have to say that I don’t care for some AG stuff. XMT Pad Conditioner . . . uh, can you say . . . quick detailer like Meg’s Last Touch and it’s SO much cheaper. DP Pad Rejuvenator . . . How about dish soap? I love my Cobra Miracle and Deluxe Towels, but I’d like to try the Phat Towel someday. Like I said, I have a lot of this stuff because I got them for free or a really good deal.

Sorry if my post didn’t help much but it’s just my 2 cents.

I agree, when I saw the XMT pad conditioner, I wanted to call up autogeek and say "how dumb do you think I am?". I use ONR at QD strength for pads, either that or some FK425 (I love 425).

And since you know zymol so much, I am sure you know how silly some of their products are, like paying their price for engine degreaser... When I saw how expensive their engine degreaser was, I was floored, I thought the expensive stuff was for the paint lol.

I agree with you completely on the Autogeek stuff. And I will say that they do have great customer service.

As for Zymol . . . I am a loyalist but I do earn, and work hard, for my money just like the next guy. Look at Zymol prices for Glas, Treat, and Carbon (or any other handcrafted wax) and you’re better off getting Stoner’s Invisible Glass, Connolly Hide Food, and P21S Concours, respectively. I still buy Clear and HD Cleanse (for myself) and Complete Kits (for gift giving) regularly, but being that Zymol prices went up recently I’m glad I looked elsewhere sooner daily use products. Zymol is great if you want a green and environmentally friendly product – that has a price premium.

BTW Ron, I can’t ship your Zymol Ital today as promised . . . So I shipped it YESTERDAY!!! I hope you’re happy with your new eg, I will email the tracking number to you shortly. Enjoy :xyxthumbs

As far as vendors: Autopia, Danase, Autogeek, SMP, Premium Auto Care among a few others.

As for products, I've used a lot and haven't really been terribly disappointed with many. There are definitely some that are better than others, and those are the ones that you'll see in my Click and Brag posts (which I'd love to make more of if we could get some nice weekends).

As far as vendors go:

Top of the Line

Proper Auto Care

Autopia

Danase

Detailers Domain - Just ordered today but Phil was great and went out of his way for me

Who I would never buy from again: AutoGeek. Far and away the worst detailing customer service I have had.

I find it interesting that you say that... I've had numerous problems with items I've purchased from Auto Geek. And their shipping time is RIDICULOUS (2 weeks to get an item) when you choose the standard method. But, every time I complain they take care of the problem right away.

I do not understand... AG ships out the next day via UPS... Seriously, how much faster could a company ship ? I do not think they are responsible for how long UPS takes to deliver..

I think AG's shipping is reasonable, especially when you factor in the free shipping code. It just happens to take a long time because we're in California and they're on the other side of the country.

I know how it feels though because I get excited about trying new products and the wait just seems like forever. It sucks that it takes the full 5 days, and with UPS not doing business on Sat (without extra charges), even if you order early Monday morning and it ships out that morning, you won't get the package for at least 7 days.

Yep, I know what you mean.. I always screw myself up by procrastinating and then get hot for a new delivery.. Just before Memorial Day I spend $100 plus to get a shipment overnighted....

But in any case, it is not AG fault or bad shipping because they cannot be close enough to all of us when we need them.

Free shipping code? Please do tell :)

My gripe with AG is this: I'm paying $8-$9 for shipping. Now granted AG does package their items very carefully, sometimes its way over kill (such as when I ordered my PC carpet brush). Furthermore, it doesn't always launch the day after. I've waited for a few days before the thing launched... if I'm not mistaken I may have waited more then a few days (but I believe a weekend was included). I've had things shipped to me from all over the country, and NOTHING has taken as long as auto geek. From cigars, to mixed martial arts equipment, to clothing... from New York, Florida, etc. but for what ever reason AG always takes the longest.

I would also like to mention that besides that little tid bit, I would recommend and do in fact use their service :)

Product Lines:

3M

Meguiar's

Nothing is perfect and by no means is everything they offer the best. Overall, though, their lines are solid.

Vendors:

Danase for online

Otherwise, I buy at a one of two local suppliers

Optimum, Clearkote and Werkstatt. I've met and talked extensively on the phone with David of Optimum and Everett of Clearkote and traded e-mails a few times with Jeff of Werkstatt. None of them have claimed to be "the best" but have promised that their products will peform well. I also trust Mike Phillips of Meguiars whenever I have a question about their products. I know he will give me the skinny on Meguiars products. Yeah, I know there was a little flap over the specialized cleaners in NXT but at the time, Mike was going by what he was told about the product from the chemist. Based on the information he had, he did the best he could to let us know what to expect from NXT.

Oh yeah, I can't forget Patrick at exceldetail and Ranney at pakshak. Great selection, very competitive pricing and fast shipping.
