where to get a w6 form.

for all the detailers who does dealerships, i need some help. this is my first year in business so i dont have any past tax forms.. the dealerships are asking for my w6 form for tax purposes and im clueless.. how do i get one? h&r block?

i tried looking on the IRS website, they normally have most forms that are downloadable...

according to quickbooks this is a form thats not really used that much...i would see if the dealership takes any other misc payroll form...

What does your personal tax situation have anything at all to do with a dealership. Just tell them this is your first year and you and them if necessary will get all the appropraite tax form next year when you file your taxes. Seems like a rather odd thing to ask of you considering your current situation of being in your first year.

yea.. i dont think they know its my first year. when they ask me how long i've been doing this , i told them 2 years now but i didnt mention i was working for another company. they didnt ask for a w6 but they said next time i show up, bring us your tax forms and i read somewhere on here that its the w6 form. i think they'll need something for tax deductions i guess?

All they really need is your SSN, unless you are incorporated, etc.

Print out the w-9 and give it to them, then they'll be able to issue you a 1099 at year's end.

You've just acquired a silent partner who takes 30-40% of your net profit, and assumes no risk.:rules: :welcome

Welcome to the wonderful world of taxes!
