Where to buy 2500-3000 grit wet/dry sandpaper?

I plan on doing some scratch touchups and I need some very fine wet/dry sandpaper. However, all that I can find at this grit are discs for a sander. My local home depot doesn't go very high (in the 1000's I think). Where can I find wet/dry sandpaper this fine?

For wet sanding paper I would check your local parts store and not the hardware. Parts stores usually carry a pretty good selection.

They seem to have good prices on the meg's detailers line.....also...they have meg's MF 50% off...3 water magnets for $15....

I got 3 sheets each of 2500 and 3000 from Megs. I'm doing it this high to do as little damage as possible-- or is that not how it works?

I guess it depends on what your working on. I personally never use anything over 1500 I go from there to a compound. with 2500 you will be working for a long time. make sure you put even pressure over the sandpaper when you use it (dont use the tips of your fingers for pressure). keep drying it to check your progress you dont want to take off more than your need to. tape off the area that you want to do. you dont want to mess up more than you have to. Sorry if you knew all that already.......

I'm welcome to any and all input, I'm a newbie :)

I'm planning on using a new pencil (eraser end) to sand with-- cut out a square of sandpaper and tape it around the end of the pencil. I could also probably find something around here to make a makeshift sanding block if I need to.

no dont do that, use the bottoms of your fingers. you have to do a bigger area than just the scratch(think taping a drywall seam except oposite) you have to blend what your doing.

Auto Body Supply Store. look one up in your area. Look for 1500g and 2000g to be safe
