I don't know where to post this so let just throw it out.

I am not new, but have done alot of lurking......

Ok, I have traded my OCD from straightening cans in every supermarket I go into to getting sand out of my car rugs at every stop light (sorry if you were behind me), so here is a couple of questions....

issue one. How do you get the year old fries from between the seat and console? I have bought the skinny wire brush and it just doesn't work, although it is good at beach sand. Do I need to pull the seats? (Nissan Frontier 2002). If so how easy is it to doit?

issue two. My truck looks pretty good using the local car wash (keeping on eye on weather to get the free wash due to rain). I do not have access to a hose. Is a drive wax job ok?

issue three, a complaint. If I add up the cans, brushes and dodads I have bought at WallyMart, I am sure I could afford a professional detail job. I suspect in the next three months the equipment I am going to buy in prep of doing my headlights, someone could do it faster and cheaper and appreciate the work. So if I do not have a high end show car what are my options.

issue four. You all do neat work. I am going to work some extra hours and buy lots of stuff!

you are in the right place ...give that car your best shot with the stuff you have and post up some pics ...you dont need alot of money to properly clean/ maintain your car's finish .

Pulling seats isnt that hard if you have the tools. normally its 4 bolts or nuts and a wiring harness. I pull seats alot because i find it to be faster and more effective at getting areas like you have described. They also make crevice tools for shop vacs that can get into tight areas but Ive found they choke the vac down and cuts the suction to about 1/4 of what it should have. As for the wax, any wax is better than none as long as you keep a good coat on it. Walmart sells some good waxes these days and has one pretty much for any budget. While you could pay someone to do the work (and i dont tell many people this because if i did i would be working at Walmart stocking the detailing shelf at night) its much more rewarding to get some good advise, buy the products you need, and do it yourself.

I bought a set of brushes at Harbor freight tools that has several of what look like bottle brushes of different sizes. The larger one works well for brushing the dried up french fries and loose change from the tight areas between the seats and console. A brush designed to pull lint from a dryer vent also works well for this and can be purchased at your local Wal Mart.

No access to a hose? you may want to look into some Poorboy's World Spray & Wipe (PB S&W) or some Optimum No Rinse (ONR)

Good suggestions above but also move the seat to the full upright position, and by moving the seat full forward or backwards you can gain access to most all points under the seat
