Where in MD can I find some Engine Kote?

I remember this thread wherein the pictures were QUITE good of an engine cleaned with Meguiar's APC+ and then shined with "Engine Kote".

Where can I find this stuff? I have had no success at all. I live in Maryland, and for the life of me, I can not find it at any professional detailer or paint supply store. Any ideas on where to get the "Engine Kote"???

P.S. I already got the Meg's APC+ and that alone made the engine look sweet, but I want to get the other stuff to see what a difference some dressing looks like.

Please help if you can :)

FYI, Engine Kote is one of the discontinued items from the Detailer Line. The whole line was discontinued and replaced with new products. I think Hyper Dressing is its replacement. More info here.

But maybe this thread will help you find a store that stocks Meg's pro products.. Might get lucky and find someplace with some in stock still.

You can get it online here.

If the paint supply stores in your area don't have it, you probably aren't going to find it locally.

PM or email Mike Phillips, since there is a question if the product is even being made anymore, he would know.

Maybe give Mop N Glo floor shine a shot. I find it very close to EK. FWIW several have stated EK on the engine bay didnt tunr out well for them. I would stick to a water based protectant for that. I hear Ek can be a major pain to clean up.

I've got about 3/4 of a gallon left sitting in my basement but I'm in Northern VA near Dulles airport. If you want to meet up somewhere 1/2 just let me know and I'll give a spray bottle of the stuff.

I used it once on my engine and didn't like it but it works well in the fenders.

I've seen good results here from people using the CD2 step 1 and 2.I just bought the pack at a local CAP store and going to give it a try.

I'm in frederick and I have some i'd be willing to part with. I don't like it that much and I prefer to use their vinyl and rubber cleaner. email me if you want it

I talked to Karen? who orders Megs for Kleen-Rite and she says she hadn't heard anything about EK being discontinued. I guess she could be wrong though. I just received 4 gallons just yesterday. I like it for wheel wells, engine, and it does a nice job on restoring vinyl mats too.

I guess she hasn't talked to anyone at Meguiars lately :) Kleen-Rite probably buys from a local distributor rather than directly from Meguiars which could explain why they seem to be out of the loop. Just to satisfy your own curiosity call Meguiars and ask, their customer service number is 1-800-347-5700.

For me to order from Kleen-Rite, all I need to do is call and set up an account? Does it matter I don't have a big detailing business?
