Just sometimes I might have some small tar come on the car or tire sling, and the sheepskin mitt doesn't really clean them that easily. It's great when you fill it up with soap and suds though, just glides across the paint.
The MF allows a bit more "bite" and I doubt the marring, if any, is much.

That bit more "bite" you refer to is why I don't use MF to wash. MF has excellent scrubbing abilities that is why it removes product so well when you buff with it. Problem is when washing with MF I find it to be hard on the LSP. It cleans too well. As you mentioned sheepskin "just glides across the paint" and that is what I want. If I have stubborn spots that need extra attention than I use the appropriate products to do the job.
