Where do you wax/seal?

I'm planning on detailing my 2000 VW GTI soon and I was wondering how important it is to seal or wax the paint that is on the interior of the vehicle, e.g. door sills, inside of trunk, under the hood etc.



For example, I imagine that when most people wax their hood they stop where it meets the fender rather than opening the hood and doing over the edge of the panel.

If it is painted wax or use a sealant on it. Dirty doorjams etc detract from the final finish.

I wash the door area everytime and wax it once a month, under the hood and and trunk once in a while I clean it with a chemical but don't wax it.

Depends on how far you want to go. I would say an "Autopian detail" would include any and all painted surfaces and then some including door jams, sills, undersides, etc.

You dont have to do the door jambs and such, its not really going to add an incredible amount of protection, and most people probably never notice it. However, i try to do them once or twice a year. Any more than that and i figure its not worth my time, just takes too long with all the ltitle curves and bumps and stuff. So yeah, its probably a good idea, but not necessary.

I wax door jam, under the hood and trunk lid a couple times a year.

i seal those areas 1x per year. i usually wash them everytime or every other time

2-3 times per year...I try to pay special attention to the "inside" areas every other wash.
