Where do I find these???

I've got quite a few swirls and I plan on doing this by hand, so what do you suggest???

Now what should I use for interior??

Tire cleaner???

Isn't Stoner a good way to clean the glass??? Furthermore, can't it be used on tinted windows??

I think I need something as powerful as the Powerwash+. My car is awfully dirty and get's that way kinda easy.....I think I'm gonna stick with it as long as it doesn't harm in any way....

I have alot of Stoner products (and happy with them)more time less shine is real good invisible glass is excellent and buy it by the case and save big money .........................BTW they are nice people that ship real fast

Invisible glass is good but I found that I have to do the same area like 3 times to get it streak free. Now, when it is streak free I do mean STREAK FREE. I just don't like how much time I have to spend to get it looking like that. Fortunatly they have some awesome customer service if you are unhappy with it. Its safe on tint too.

I experienced the same thing with Stoner's too. It was a bit too streaky for me. I now use TurtleWax's ClearVue and when used with a good MF towel, I get no streaks whatsoever. It seems very similar to Eagle one's 20/20 because I get the same sheeting/beading action on the windshield that 20/20 users report.

Intermezzo, have you tried ValuGuard's glass cleaner? That stuff is awesome! It kicks butt on anything I've used off the shelf. I hate windows as much as the next guy and their stuff works really well.

If you want some really nifty stuff then go to www.advanage.com and get a 33 oz bottle of the wonder clear. That stuff really kicks the llama's arse. It can be diluted into anything from engine degreaser to glass cleaner. It makes an unbelivable carpet cleaner too. When they say 'Wonder' they mean it. I just thought I'd throw that out there since we were talking about glass cleaners. I like Advanage even more than ValuGuard's stuff. Its more versitile too.

Jngrbrdman,

I haven't tried either of those products. Maybe when my ClearVue runs out I'll give them a shot. I love trying out new stuff......too bad the ClearVue is a 32oz bottle!

Explorer,

Meguiar's Hand Polish is an excellent product, but unless you are planning to use it on a separate car, it's generally incompatible with Klasse or other poly sealants.

Also, I would consider getting a 'regular' car wash in addition to (or in place of) EF Powerwash, especially if you plan on using carnauba on top of your Klasse. You can get one from CMA or you can just pick up a gallon of Meguiar's Gold Class at Target.

As for discounts, Autopia members get a Father's Day discount (15%) that is good till June 15.

MF towels.....no one is cheaper than Tom Gong. You can get 16x16 MF towels for two bucks each (if you buy 25 of them) and they have been getting nothing but good reviews here. You can e-mail him at [email protected] In fact, I'm planning on placing an order with him for some large waffle-weave towels and some regular MF towels.

Houston....We have a problem.....

This was originally said by DavidB in his article called "The Perfect Shine"

Swirl marks and other minor blemishes I polish out using 3M Imperial Hand Glaze (it’s a polish, not a glaze) or Meguiar’s Professional Hand Polish.

This was posted by JasonC8301....

Meguiar’s Professional Hand Polish (Polish) - $8.95 (I do not recommend the 3M IHG because the Klasse system does not bond to the oils and fillers on the paint because of the 3M IHG, I believe if my memory serves me correctly, the Meguiar's hand polish has mild abrasives in it.)

...AND NOW YOU!!!

Meguiar's Hand Polish is an excellent product, but unless you are planning to use it on a separate car, it's generally incompatible with Klasse or other poly sealants.

What the heck?? He says either of them are good, Jason says one won't work and now you're saying the other one won't work!!

Who am I to believe?? I have called DavidB's attention to this so maybe he can shed some light on the subject....See if you can't devise the answer for me either....

I wasn't really sure about the Meguiar's Hand Polish, wait gosh darn, Meguiar's deems a Polish as a non abrasive glaze in the regular world.

Darn AOL always crashing, messing up my Autopia experience.

3M IHG is a Glaze with no abrasives as stated on the bottle and Meguiar's terms Polish a non abrasive glaze that covers up swirls.

Forget about 3M IHG, get the Meguiar's hand Polish out of the cart.

I would go with abrasives. 3M makes a fine line of abrasives if you know how to work it right. 3M Finesse It II Finishing Material will have a place in my bag along with www.autoint.com 's Clear Coat Compound (similar to 3M Perfect It Rubbing Compound Medium Cut.) If wroekd in enought the 3M FI II will leave little to no haze and I follow up with either #7, PPCL, or Klasse AIO (depends on Klasse/Z)

Explorer,

I believe Jason was confusing Meguiar's Hand Polish with Meguiar's Swirl Free Polish (thanks to Meguiar's perfectly confusing customer service). MHP is a glaze, just like 3M IHG and doesn't contain any abrasives and has only light cleaning solvents in it. The same bonding problems you'll get using 3M IHG with Klasse also apply to MHP. If you want to get technical, the issue is not really a bonding problem. It's actually counterproductive because the cleaning agents in Klasse AIO will remove the oils from both IHG and MHP. KAIO is a stronger cleaner/polish than IHG & MHP and following a light cleaner with a stronger cleaner is a waste of time, in this situation.

I don't fully agree with DavidB's statement. Yes, MHP is a polish in the sense that it provides a deep wet shine to your car, but it doesn't remove any swirls....and at best does a medicre job of filling in swirls. Believe me, I have a big bottle of the stuff at home and use it regularly (well, just once so far). It's pretty much a glaze...similar to 3M IHG, Meguiars #7, OG Omega Glaze...etc.

Both of the products mentioned are very fine polishes, heavily loaded with oils. Both WILL remove swirls over time and mask existing swirls. They will not take care of heavy micro marring. For this you need a polish that's designed to remove 1200 to 2000 grit scratches.

It's unfortunate that people think removing swirl marks is a one-shot process. Unless you plan to be very agressive with your paint, polishing out fine swirl marks and other forms of micro marring takes several (if not more) polishings. This is exactly why sealant designers, like Zaino and CMA, are developing durable fillers.

I don't believe in being agressive with paint problems unles it is a last resort. I try to recommend the least abrasive products necessary to do the job. Only time, effort and patience will lead the a perfect finish.

As far as the AIO being counter productive to IHG and MHP, I don't believe that is true (and I have the paint to prove it). The oils have two purposes. The first and most important purpose is to act as a lubricant to the polishing process. If you use the products with a foam pad (by hand or PC), the lubrication prevents the creation of more swirls while the fine polish is doing its job. The second purpose is filling, which actually has little value at all. The fact that AIO removes the oils is a good thing... it cleans the surface for better bonding of the Klasse acrylic.

That's my story, and I'm sticking to it!

:wavey

Thanks for clearing that up David. I guess if you put it that way, you could definitely make a case for how such a product would be useful in conjunction with Klasse.
