Where do Canadians buy detailing gear?

Just fyi, Chris from eShine.ca sent me a PM mentioning that they will be selling Optimum compound, polish, and spray wax as soon as they can get a supply. Yay.

OK here's one for you. When I moved here from California I brought some Optimum polish with me, but am running low. I've looked but can't find any locally or online (in Canada), ideas?

no where yet.. online.. pakshak i think ?

Aside from ordering online from the States, where do you guys order your stuff from? I've been to Canadian Tire and Autosource and both pretty much suck if you want good bonnets, a wide range of supplies, good brushes, or really anything of any quality aside from a few luckily stocked Megs products.

I'm getting a little sick of paying duty and really high shipping costs. Anyone have any ideas?

I've had good success here

A gentleman usually hits the car shows in the Greater Toronto Area selling Zaino.

A Firestone/Bridgestone dealer in Guelph appears to be the one supplying all Zaino in Canada. Based on the date stamp on the boxes, the stuff is fresh.

I'm seeing Poorboys and other products popping up at various speed shops.

Dude you can find everything in Canada, you just have to look.

I found out the hard way last year when I was looking for LC pads, the guy was right in front of me !

I'am not disclosing my sources ! ....LoL

Why are you being a selfish jerk? :furious:

neither eshine, carcaresmart or lastingshine seem to offer the wolfgang "polishin' pal" applicator.

any idea where i may find one in the gta?

autogeek has a decent promotion going but i'd rather find one north of the border.

If you aren't in a rush, e-mail e-shine and ask if they can get one for you with their next order from WG. Worst that would happen is they can't. But, maybe they can, if you are willing to wait a bit.

With regards to the Optimim and LC pads, e-shine carries both now.

This info is old by now I'm sure,

Zaino in Canada can be had via

The boss is a fellow named Mike and I've ordered from him in the past. He's good to work with and a tip for quicker service is to download the order form then fill it out and fax it in. Put your credit card # on it but not the last 4 digits of the credit card. Soon after faxing, phone Mike, the boss, and identify yourself and give him the 4 missing digits. He'll process your order really quickly and get it to you asap.

Napa/Crappy Tire/Part Source doesn't have much of a selection of Meguiar's products. Carquest stocks some more common ones, but can order anything from the Meguiar's line. Locally, they even said they can get the brushes, pads, micro-fibre towels, etc. It might be worth it to check them out.

Bumping this thread....

I just ordered some stuff from CarCareSmart.com...

I ordered my stuff @ 10:30 AM, and it was packaged and shipped by NOON!! So I should have it tommorow... I was very happy with CCS.

they are good, but i'm not impressed with their decision to carry cheaper brands like autoglym

I'd have to agree with you there. I obviously won't be ordering any of that. But for an ethusiast on a budget, that may be a solution..

I mean I don't see any harm in OFFERING both high end and low end detailing products. The user just has to choose what they would like. Their selection is getting better. But you are correct, from their selection so far, it seems as though they are trying to push the "Autoglym" brand..

As I said tho, their selection is getting better and better...

there meguairs selection is less than great but they seem helpful and willing to order things for me

this is probably something people already know but i just found out myself

pakshak has a canadian distributor listed on their page .. so they ship stuff from within canada, i'm going to place an order with them soon for a bunch of MFs
