Where can I find info on painting

It looks my new Audi will be getting painted, by HBL Audi in Tysons, VA.



I want to learn as much as I can about the painting process - from both the standpoint of stripping an entire car and painting the whole thing, to single panel repainting. Can anyone recommend a site?



I have read DavidB's article on in the Learn! section.



I want to know what they should be doing... wetsanding to the primer, how the paint should be applied, what the prepped area should look like, etc.



Basically, I am tired of the sh*t I have gone through. I want absolutely perfect paint, I'd I like to learn how to get it.



Also, anyone who can recommend a top-notch dealer (price is no object, I won't be paying) to take out the swirl marks HBL put all over my car would be appreciated as well.

kcarter, for starters, you might want to use the search engine, and use "new + paint" or "repaint" as your keywords. I think there have been several discussions, and those threads might give you a bit of intro material. Me, I'm only qualified to speak as a victim of a hellaciously-bad paint job. :(
