Where can I find inexpensive pads for a polisher?

I took the plunge and just bought a dewalt polisher but the waffle pads from one store (Goodpseed motoring) are something like 20 - 30 bucks a peice!

Where can I get these pads a little cheaper.

Showroom -

The reason why I went there is because AutoInt doesn't have pictures and I didn't want to ask you for the EXACT product numbers of the polishing and cutting pads.

Also, you can call Ron at 1-800-543-7156 if you need help with AutoInt stuff. Their products are ment for the professional side of things (no fancy packaging) but work great and are very user friendly. :up

joed,

Kwik auto body supply in Medford carries the complete line of 3M products including the waffle pads. Not sure where in the Boston area you are but maybe you can get them locally.

Do they have an internet site?

Do I need a special backing plate for the DW849 or can the factory one be used for all the velcro pads I need to purchase?

The DeWalt does not come with a velcro backing plate, so you will need to purchase one. I have the Meguiars backing plate on my rotary.

Umm what's the thread pattern for this polisher, on Motorhead they offer the:

5/16

5/8

Which one should purchase, aside from that I have three of the 3M waffle pads and two Meguiars cutting pads (red).
