When you use QEW in winter, do you wash the rocker panels too?

I washed my car in the garage with NXT soap and warm water yesterday. I do want to get some QEW but I'm worried about it freezing on the way here and affecting the product.

Anyway, I didn't bother washing the rocker panels because they were just too dirty and I knew they would just get dirty again. I figured I should probably avoid letting my MFs touch that salt/slush/dirt.

For the guys that wash their cars in the winter without a hose, do you use the same MFs as you detail the car with? Do you have separate MFs....or separate wash mitts?

Here's what my car looked like after washing...notice all the gobs of nasty slush hanging from the rockers.

You can see some of the damage on the car from a friend who was driving in the next lane on his cell phone and sideswiped me a couple years ago.

When I wash my car I use one mitt for the upper half of the car and a seperate mitt for the bottom half. I use cheap MF towels for wheels and rockers. I do this with QEW and regular car washes.

Help the village idiot. What is QEW? It sounds like a waterless car wash---correct? If so, is that safe?

Thanks!

QEW=Quick Eazy Wash, you can get this great product from Protecall.com. QEW mainly use for big RV's, but do same crap with reg sedan/coupe cars. Yep is bubbless and almost waterless(I still give a final wash when Im done w/QEW..my 2 cents)

Yes it is a product that is commonly used for washing cars in the garage or where you do not have access to a hose. It doesn't require rinsing.

Looking at the pic, with the ice on the ground, I would say his area is too cold for hosing off. I have the same issue with my car, which is parked outside year round. If I want to wash it, I have to pull my wife's car out of the garage, and let the car thaw out for before I can get all the ice off the car to wash.

Can you hose your car off outside to remove the bulk of that crud first? Or do you live where it's so cold the hose would freeze?

If I'm washing without the hose, it means that the weather is too cold to have the hose hooked up. From about October-March, the hose is drained and disconnected.

Occasionally I'll take a spray bottle and warm water and spray off that crap.

i would go to the closest coin up and spray all that ice off. Remember the angle and dintance you have to keep.

Im in luck, there is one near my home that has garage doors. Most people would take their cars through the automatic, so I dont have to worry about other people waiting for me.
