...Dreaming on an E92....
It ain't no detailing trade show but I thought this forum was best suited for this thread

Took a drive down to Hollister Hills to go wheelin' with some fellow Jeepers from JeepForum.com, other than the 2 3/4 hr drive I had it was TONS of fun, definitely worth the trip in the future!

First off, yours truly

I was REALLY happy with how my rig handled the terrain, only thing we didn't hit was the mud pit but I was fine with that anyway, the dust was bad enough :wow:

I have videos of that park on some of my automotive DVD's. It looks brutal. That big hill is crazy. It looks like you had a lot of fun. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

No kidding that hill was gnarly! :wow: There was a mid-90's full size Bronco trying his hand at it when we first got there and he BARELY made it. A few times it looked as if he was going to start sliiping sideways and roll

A few more to add...This guy had some nice flex out of his rig, check out the front

Troy- Go out and buy one then, you won't regret it :D Just don't buy the new 07 JK's I don't like those, waaay too much of a soccer-mom car IMO.

You know, I woulda never thought I'd be into Jeeps and wheelin' as much as I am now before I got mine. Now I'm hooked, just ask my empty pocket book :)

JEEP stands for Just Empty Every Pocket :D

Now if my 4 banger 67 scout was just ready!!!! Ill keep ii in IOWA so not to show everyone up on BINDER POWER!!! Maybe some day ill et the body done and see if it drives better than it did. RANDAL

That looks like so much fun!!!! I always wanted to go on one of those trails but my car would break in half. So i just stick with the little trails lol and leave the rest to my quad.

Nice videos :bigups

I haven't done much to it so far. Added a Rough Country 4" lift, Rubicon Express 5" shackles (boomerangs in the rear), Rockcrawler Series 51? wheels, 33" BFG's, some armor, exhaust, K&N, TJ flares in the rear (Added them about 2 weeks ago, my rear tires clear now :rockon ), and I've got a "hack n tap" SYE and CV driveshaft waiting to be installed. I'd love to have a Dana 44 in the rear, 4:88's and either an ARB or Ox locker. I don't want to throw money into the 35 really but an Aussie locker is tempting, for the price I think it might work out great and since I have the 4 cyl. I won't be throwing tons of torque at it either. I've got a light foot on the trails though, unless I need to use the gas to get out of a crappy spot. The RC springs aren't the best but mine perform damn good, they ride great on/off road and flex like crazy, the suspension just cycles really smooth. I'm pretty happy with it right now, but I want to do more. I'll be getting my own place in about 3-4 months so I need to save for that now as well. I'm thinking about taking up a part-time night job to help pay for Jeep mods :D

I'm heading down to Hollister for the 2nd time tomorrow morning, meeting up with some guys from Jeepforum and I've got a friend riding with me. I've sorta tweaked things a bit since last trip so I'm wondering if it helped any...

i agree that throwing money into a d35 is a waste of money.....but with a 4 banger and i light foot you may be alright.....i have just recently been back down to 33's i was running 35's and it did great(d35) just remember that when you add a locker you increase your breakage probability but hey thats why we do what we do:rockon CARNAGE:yay

I was thinking the same thing, and I'm thinking about just going for it and getting the locker. This past weekend at Hollister was the hardest I've wheeled it so far (Not that I went crazy) and I see where a locker would really, really help. Yesterday I talked with a guy at the parts store who has a 4 cyl auto TJ with the 35/Aussie and he says it gave him tons of traction and it's not that loud really. The more I think about it, the more I want an Aussie....

And again...#%$^#$W money pit! :D

yeah....well you know what JEEP stands for Just Empty Every Pocket:D........by the way unless you plan on running 37's and up on tires a 4:56 ratio would suit your needs better, they rate a 33-36" application w/ 4:56's as your best overall performance range....that is what i run and it is more then enough w/ a locker......i will be changing my rear to a Ford 8.8 w/ disc brakes out of my 97 explorer and using a Ox locker.....then going to a front and rear 4-link.......my friend is the CAD designer for Blue Torch Fab so he is helping me with the set up design

Everyone says 4:88's are almost like stock with the 4 cyl and 33's, and with how well mine does right now I figured 4:56's would be fine, but if I ever go up to 35's the 4:88's would be nice to have. I'm starting to think I'll keep the 33's for a while, so 4:56's will probably be what I go with.

the more and more I think about it, the more I want an Aussie locker. I realized my foot is pretty freaking light on the trail (IMO) so the turdy-5 should be OK.

Blake- I think I've spotted you ever there a few times but wasn't sure if it was you. What type of Jeep do you have? I know I've either seen you in the TJ or YJ forum :hmmm:

the 4:56 ratio will work good up to a 37" tire....but it is up to you if you drive on the road alot the 4:56 will deliver better mpg....however with you having a 4 banger the 4:88 may help you if your a light foot

Yeah, that is me.

I have a 03 Grand Cherokee (WJ)...its just stock right now, I would eventually like to get 4.5" on it or maybe even the Iron Rock Offroad 5.5' lift but we will see.
