See subject... any recomendations for something that doesn't go away and make the tire look bad after one wash or slosh in a puddle of water?

Meguiars Endurance Gel (High gloss) lasts me about 2-4 weeks deopending on the weather (that includes 2 or 3 washes). I like the product. Mother s also has a new endurance gel out that lasts well also.

Zaino tire dressing seems to last a couple weeks from my experience with it, it provides a nice, black satiny finish and is easy to control in applying. I have been trying Turtle Wax Tire Wax on my snow tires since putting them on just to keep them from turning brown or looking dirty but I think I might like it for after the winter. It is a white cream with UV protection and no silicone. It has a medium gloss but can be buffed down lower after it dries. 303, lexol and Black Pearl seem to be some other favorites, depending on what level of gloss you like.

303 not only is the best I've used, it lasts longer than my other fav, Vinylex, which has a slightly higher gloss for when the mood may stricke you.

Zymol Tyre works veyr well. I have used both Meguaiars Endurance and Zymol. The Zymol is far and away the better product. Lasts for about a month or more and can be a flat black or high gloss depending on method of application. I highly reccomend it. Good luck.

Chuck, try 303, but do this. After washing the tires, apply 303 and leave it on overnite if possible. Then, apply another coat in the morning. 30 minutes later, wipe off excess. After doing that, my tires stay black and bead water for 6 to 10 washings.........

I'll second the vote for Meguiar's Endurance - lasts long, good gloss (comes in matte or high gloss).

Pretty cheap and available ($8 at Pep Boys in my case). Just be sure to get one of those sponge/foam applicators. Otherwise, it'll get messy.

The Eagle One product is Eagle One Concours Tire Shine. It gives a matte finish factory look. Unfortunally Eagle One no longer makes this product and it's very hard to find. Thankfully I have a few bottles in my private stash.

Yes, it lasts around 3 weeks. But it's almost impossible to find locally. It was hard to find to start with, now is really hard since it's no longer being made.

One of the guys from Eagle One (M3sedan?) posted couple weeks ago saying that their product called Protectant is similar to Concours Tire Shine. I decided to try it on (just one coat), it's 3 weeks, couple rainy days and a car wash since then and my tires still have that factory look. I like that matte look.

IMHO it's important to always put tire dressing on clean tires, stripped of previous dressings if you want it to look good and last longer.

Guys

FYI I use 100% silicon without any dramas. When it rains the silicon repels the water leaving it beading. I have been using it for the last two years with no browning or deterioration on my low profile Dunlop’s.

Cheers

Dawn may not be enough. Eagle One makes tire cleaner, I've never used it though. Many guys here like EF Hi Intensity, I use dilluted degreaser like Simple Green or Orange Clean. There was a thread about Greased Lighting.

Try STOP using your product and see how dry and brown your tires look. Silicone oil is a rubber deteriorant. A lot of tire manufacturers will even void their warranty on sidewall failure if you use a product that contains it on your tires.......

Just a FYI

well that finish 2001 tire shine gel sucks. It sprayed all over my freshly klassed finish. And yes i applied it with the EO tire swipe, let it soak 2 hours, then buffed. :down
