Wheel Wax

I use it all the time. Leaves a nice shine on the wheels and is a pretty good cleaner too, took all the little black specs off that wouldn't come out with anything else I tried. Here's a pic, Wheel Wax on wheel and Turtle Wax Tire Wax on tire.

raven,

Your wheels, and tires look excellent! :xyxthumbs

How do you like that Turtle Wax Tire Wax? Is it like a gel? How does it hold up?

Did she use the Wheel Wax in her hair or just not take a shower for a month?!

She could stand to lose a few pounds. I see a love handle peeking out over her short shorts ;) :p

OK moderators, I'll tone it down. Forgot this was a family show :)

Oh yeah, I forgot, this is the internet and we all date super models with zero flaws. ;) :lol

White_F150, the turtle Wax Tire Wax is my go tire dressing (at the momen). the pic is right after application and the initial shine only last for a couple of days. Then it turns into a (IMO) very nice matt with a little gloss. For me it seems to last at least two weeks with a couple of washes in between (have gone three weeks with good weather).

LOL, I date 7 Super Models, one for each day. Then i switch every week with another set of 7. And yes they are all PERFECT :) Well back to the thread, I would try the new NXT metal polish stuff (forgot actual name) but i heard it does a good job from reading review here and there.

Not on clear coat wheels.

Haha! Mine too. First it smelled awesome, and when it turned to cottage cheese it smelled gnarly.

Just give it vigorous shake and it'll turn back to pudding :p

As far as Wheel Wax, stick to AIO or #20 or whatever sealant / wax you have on hand. It ain't worth the money.

But, try that AIO + IW combo :xyxthumbs I swear by it.

I did shake it and it didn't make a difference. I tossed it in the garbage.

I just use the same products for the wheels that I use for the paint.

Insulator Wax is my new favorite for wheels. That stuff is slick. I would put it right up there with 4 * UPP for slickness.

IMO this stuff is not impressive considering the cost of the product. I have used it on clearcoat wheels and it works just about as good as a cleaner wax like good old Meguiars cleaner wax. The cleaning action is not strong nor does it have any light abrassives to remove tough brake dust. Its mostly solvent based cleaners. I tried it on my 3 piece polished alloys and it did not even buff to a black haze like other metal polishes does. I tell most of you save your cash and buy semi chrome or whenol for polished alloys and use stuff like AIO for protection on clearcoat wheels. This stuff is gonna be used on my wheels because I payed for it and gonna want to use it up.

I use a different formulation of the same product (a forum sponsor over here has taken the standard Wheel Wax and "modified" it) and it's absolutely fantastic. It comes in liquid form rather than a paste-ish form and is definitely the best thing I've ever used on wheels. Amongst other things it has twice the heat resistance of the standard item. Apply it with a clean applicator; try if possible to let it cure for 24hrs before driving anywhere and I kid you not all crap just wipes off. There's no need for water at all.

It's also great at getting tar/ingrained crap off the wheels and leaves a great shine.

If anybody's interested I can source some and send samples to a few forum members so they can try it for themselves?

I would recommend Poorboys Wheel Sealant. It's the best wheel wax I have found.

How is it different than any other quality sealant like Zaino or Klasse? If it lasts longer and is more resistant to heat than we should be using it on the whole car. I just don't get how something can be a wheel sealant and not just a sealant. What in it makes it specificly a wheel sealant?

Prolly marketing and the ability to charge you more for something that doesn't do any better job than Nu-finish/Zaino/ Klasse etc ..

What ya think?

"How is it different than any other quality sealant like Zaino or Klasse?"

It is easy to apply, smells good, and seems to have a nicer shine than Klasse. I don't know about Zaino.

Not being a chemist myself, the best explanation I can give is that first it is made to withstand heat better, it's also made to be applied to bare metal like aluminum, and also do some light cleaning and deoxidation. It has been tested on some panels with good results, but the chemist did warn of possible smears on panels. Can it be used like many other products on things not intended...absolutely...but its design and intention is for wheels and hubcaps:)
