Wheel polish

I was thinking of what makes wheel polish that is for clearcoated wheels and different than say Megs 80. They both clean the clearcoat. I am going to try some 80 on my wheels with attachement for your drill made by foose. I always do them by hand. I have been using mothers and they look good.

On a non clear wheel the stuff is phenomenal. Maybe this was posted somewhere else. I searched and couldnt find why to use wheel polish when they are cleared anyway. Too much time on my hands(LOL)

made my Foose? are you talking about a Mother's power ball that Foose advertises?

I think most if not all people on here use there regular polishes on there CC wheels

I never polished with my regular polishes on my wheels. That is what I meant the one he advertises. I always used megs or mothers on cc wheels. I am going to start using my polishes.

Do u guys use the powerball for the hard to reach areas. The polishes can be a PITA to break down by hand. I have been waxing them with regular waxes. I am going to try it. Most of my customers wouldnt pay or care for something like that but I would like for my own vehicle.

I don't use things like PowerBalls as they're basically variations on the rotary theme...easy to make a mistake. I'd just pick polishes that break down OK by hand. I wrap my applicator around something (e.g. cut down wooden clothes pin) to reach into the tight spots and/or to take some of the pressure off my fingers.

I use all sorts of polishes/compounds on cleared wheels...IMO #80 is pretty mild for this application as the clear on most wheels is both thick and hard. Also, the stuff it leaves behind might not last long if the wheels are gonna get real hot (I've heard the same argument for waxes vs. sealants but it's seldom been a problem except with Souveran).

FWIW, I usually use 3M PI-III RC 05933 (or try Hi-Temp Heavy Cut/"357") followed by PI-III MG 05937 (or try the #80), followed by either a sealant (Klasse twins or UPP) or Collinite wax.
