Wheel Cleaner

I still am unable to find the semi-gloss dash protectant. However, I found the Black Magic Professional Protectant. How is this, does it work nearly as well? Anyone has tried this and compared? Any help will be appreciated! :)

Only use the Semi-Gloss. The other stuff contains silicone, and that is bad stuff......stay away. Try WalMart, they usually carry the Semi-Gloss.

<strong class='bbc'>True that, SL is right. Stay away from waterless formulas. [/b]</blockquote>
Thanks guys for the warning!! :)

Unfortunately, I do not reside where there are any Wal-Marts. Any other formulas to recommend, I have some 3M stuff here as well. No 303 or Black Magic at the moment...

Check any local hardware stores with auto stuff or any department store type area's like K-marts or Walmarts or maybe some really equipted grocery stores (or super stores).

Hope you find it :)

Thanks in advance!

I need to know whats the best wheel cleaner for GM crome wheeles. They are the ones that come on the denali's. The question also is about getting the inside of the wheel that is not plated free of brake dust. I am sure an acid cleaner will work but its not frendly with the crome face.

I gotta order some today before the deals here end. Ok MR. Luster whats your pick...

Thanks fellas.

Meguiar's Wheel Brightener is excellent for brake dust. Spray on, let dwell for a few minutes, agitate with a wheel/tire brush, rinse thoroughly.

Then coat with WheelWax or BFWD, or Zaino ClearSeal.

I've also used Meg's APC+ and Purple Power on wheels with excellent results!:cornut:

Wheel cleaners that are formulated with acid or a high alkali should not be used if the wheel surface is compromised as it will permeate the surface and cause the wheel finish to fail and may cause structural failure

Either Wheel Brightener or just plain old soap and water will do as Bill mentioned. I also try and have a vast assortment for brushes on hand.

I had good luck with the purple power followed by wheel wax on my chrome wheels. albeit they were ford (Roush) rims but chrome all the same. Hope this helps too.

I will have no issues with the chrome using this process Bill?

Thanks for the help Sir,

I used Meg's APC+ on these chrome wheels today. They still looked terrible after cleaning. They looked clean but just dull and had a built up "film" from 4 years of driving and never being polished or cleaned!!! :cursing::banghead::cursing::banghead:

I followed up with Mothers Chrome Polish and they turned out great! BUT..........a lot of work and a lot of TIME... Almost an hour per wheel, by hand!!!:scared: (Each spoke has at least 5 separate planes that have to be polished by hand.. times 7 spokes, times 4 wheels!)

I asked my customer if she ever cleaned the chrome wheels and she said..."What do you mean?"

Nice Bill

The owner probably forgot the wheels were chrome and passed them off as aluminum.
