Wheel Cleaner and ONR

I use ONR to wash my cars. I have german cars that have a ton of brake dust. ONR isn't enough, I need to use a wheel cleaner. My question is, is it safe to use a wheel cleaner and then rinse it with ONR? What are the chances that some of the wheel cleaner wouldn't get washed off? Would this cause damage? I usually use Griots wheel cleaner.

I have been using ONR to clean my wheels and it works great. I use a separate MF towel after I am finished with all the panels on my car and make sure the MF cloth is saturated with ONR and the brake dust comes right off! If you have a ton of brake dust it must be built up over months. A weekly clean with ONR gets my wheels as good as new.

I'm not sure I have a good, *empirically objective* reason, for using the Rubber Cleaners instead of APCs, but I worry that the APCs might dry the rubber out or otherwise do something detrimental. I don't want to find out that there really *was* an issue by messing up any of my tires.

I thought rubber cleaners were nothing more than mild apc's. If not, what is different about them?

Beats me, but the rubber just turns out...uhm... *different* when I use the Rubber Cleaners :nixweiss It's closer to seeming "treated" than when I use APCs. Sorry, I realize that isn't much of an answer.



The dirty run-off seems different too...like the Rubber Cleaner has some sort of reaction with the rubber that APCs don't (or at least not the APCs I use).



Oh, and there's a warning about not getting it on *glass*, presumably because of the way automotive glass isn't 100% glass these days; I've never seen a warning like that on my APCs. Not getting it on glass can be easier said than done when doing rubber seals around windows.
