What's your power source?

A deep cycle battery is a must have, since they are designed to withstand deep drains >20%. It doesn't necessarily have to be a marine battery though, as golf cart batteries are deep cycle, but they are 6 volt so 2 are needed in series.

I'll give you a breakdown

Generator.. Big lots just had an ad .. 2,000W for $199 .. problem with that is noise.

Inverter.. should be around 2500W .. you need deep cycle marine batteries.. need charging.

Customer's electric. usually not a problem unless you get someone in an apartment building.

Agreed. Believe me, they aren't making their maid bring a generator to power her vacuum.

The problem is when you do cars at offices and there is no available power source and some won't want a generator running for a couple hours either. Still haven't found a solution for that situation that makes everyone happy. The only real option would be to invest in a van or enclosed trailer to help muffle the noise.

Compensating for water/electricity?

I'm sorry, but thats just hillarious. I would laugh at anyone that even mentioned that.

I needed to use my generator for the first time today... And sure enough, the POS wouldn't start!!! Lot of good getting a Honda did me :aww:

Did you turn on the fuel supply?

We have Honda generators on a few of our fire trucks, and when they don't start, 99.9% of the time it's the fuel tank valve wasn't open. the other .1% was having no fuel in it at all!

Has anyone tried the muck cheaper Korean Kipor generator sold on eBay? Supposedly very quiet at 58 decibels. Yamaha also makes similar units for a few less dollars as well as Suzuki. These are all quiet and push out 3000 watts and 25 amps.
