What's the most underrated product in your arsenal?

Most definitely Quick'n Brite! The stuff is sooooooooo versatile!

It is not availanle at the moment in Hungary, but IMHO it was the best all purpose (literally!) cleaner. I used it for carpets, plastics, engine, glass, stripping work...

I find the Baja Sol sheepskin mitts from Target to be some of the best I have tried, and you can't beat the price and availability. Also, the Wal-Mart MFs are very good on wheels, windows and doorjambs, or if you're stuck with no MFs left they won't scratch the paint.

I'll pick up some of those chenille pads and give them a try.

Wenol metal polishes (both red and blue)

Detailer's Pride gel wheel cleaner

Microfiber wash mitt

Both products are the best that I've tried in their categories. The microfiber wash mitt is a double-edged sword. It tends to clean too good and remove or lessen the life of the top layer (wax or sealant) but it scrubs off dirt without leaving marring and is easy to rinse off. At the moment, I'm using a lamb's wool mitt because I have Souveran on top. It's better in some ways and is gentler to the paint (and to dirt).

Good BRUSHES. I love the EZ Detail Brush and my Ultra-Soft wheel brush from WCD. They may not be something I run to Walmart for but I've tried the cheaper brushes from there and there is no comparison for me. I always pack them, along with my sheepskin mitt, in my travel kit when I visit my parents.

Son of a Gun tire foam cleaner/dressing. It's not the best but I use it on my work truck, works great and has a satin to gloss look. Will only last till next wash but for $2.50 a can it does the job on my hard driven work truck!

Where do you get them from? Do you wash your car with them, or do you use Sheepskin mitts? Also, do you notice any marring from them? I had 1 chenille mitt that I always used but it started to get crappy so I threw it out and bought a sheepskin mitt and haven't looked back. I'd be willing to try a pad though.

Marring?

None in the summer and I have a VERRRY soft clearcoat (repaint). I use them with the 2 bucket, 2 mitt method and all is good. I use the Turtle Wax ones (PepBoys)...Out of all the ones I've tried, those are my favorite. The Pinnacle ones from PAC are TERRIBLE.

I can find them locally for about ~$7 and you can use this towel for anything. Soft enough for LSP's and durable for cleaning products, they are my unsung heros for Menzerna polish/compound/glaze removal. They have a different feel than any other towel i have.

If by underrated, you mean no one talks about it much or uses it, then #36 Hi-Tech Wheel Cleaner. I love the stuff, but I'm not sure anyone else here ever mentioned it. :)

Detailer's Pride Wheel Gel

$6.95 Wheel brush from Griot's

Meguiar's #38 dressing

No Touch tire spray (4 pack at Costco)

Any of the Autopia store MF's.

Oh yeah, one more off the shelf product that is suprisingly good....

Turtle Wax Leather Cleaner and Conditioner. I only use it for its conditioning properties since I clean the leather with Woolite/water but it does a great job. Very light sheen, spreads easily and since it is a light liquid, it doesn't clog ventilated seats.

Forgot this one....

Wheel brush from Walmart with blue bristles and a silver/black handle. Passes the CD test and does a great job cleaning my wheels along with some wash shampoo.

Meguiars consumer cleaner wax...

VERY inexpensive... removes tar, bugs with little effort and it leaves a smooth, slick finish wth little effort.

Dude!!...MartyGrant, I bought a couple of the WallyWorld blue micro drying towels than they are GREAT!! They seemed great right off the bat but I wanted to see how they held up after a few washes and they pulled out like a champ. Good purchase!
