What's the best way to tackle this fresh paint?

So,

I painted this motorcycle gas tank using PPG Blue and a 2K clear, both shot out of a spray can. The paint laid down perfect, but I didn't do so well with the clear. Of course all the drips are in the ABSOLUTE WORST SPOT IMAGINABLE; that being the bottom of the tank in the center, right along the EDGE; you know, the spot that's going to be the thinnest, and also be the hardest to buff, because buffers tend to remove paint from the edges the quickest. I laid the clear on the opposite side, and the top of the tank perfect, so I would really like to get this thing finished off the right way. What's the best way to tackle the job? I was thinking of attempting to sand the drips out with 2000 grit (wet sand) and then slowly buff. Will my Rotary be able to tackle this job at a really slow speed? Do I need to use a sanding block to wet sand the drips out or will it go alright without one? What should I use to polish out the tanks, and the rounded edges and angles of it. I have orange and white micro pads for my Makita; I have Megs UC, Megs swirl free polish, 4star LLC & SMR, Menzerna IP and 106FF, Danase Swirl Abolisher III. If I need to buy a special pad I would be glad to do so. I just don't want to burn though the paint this late in the game!!!

Thanks,

Dan

Nevermind....

Waited 24 hours, blocked the paint with 1500 and then 2000 grit. Removed all the drips... Polished with Megs UC first on Orange LC pad, and then Menzerna 106FF on White LC...

No drips, scratches.... paint is like a mirror... I am very pleased with the outcome.
