Whats the best wax to use on your wheels

ronvonhagen,

I have had great success using Klasse All In One either by itself or better yet topped with Platinum Ultimate Paint Protection. The wheels are very shiny, slick to the touch and make them easier to clean. Also, brake dust and road grime don't seem to seem to stick to the wheels as much.

Cheers,

My Black 7 Series

I have used Meguiars #20 Polymer Sealant and have had great success. It has a mild cleaner, so that helps. I usually then top it with a shot of 303 Protectant. Now all I have to do the clean my wheels is use one of my microfiber towels (designated for this job) and some gold class shampoo and they clean-up very easily. Rarely do I have to use a wheel cleaner.:up

I like the UPP on the wheels, has a great shine and the biggest plus is that it made washing so easy even the dust on a BMW.

Here is another in agreement:bow .

Thanks everyone, I appreciate your expertise. I think I'm going to order some Klasse AIO. Who makes the Platinum Ultimate Paint Protection and does CMA carry it? Thanx again.

I use Klasse SG on my wheels. I figured the P21S wheel cleaner I use beforehand should remove most, if not all the dirt on the wheels so no point using AIO.

Anyone try Wheel Wax?

classic-motoring_1726_4276081

Seems like this would be a good wax because its made just for wheels.

I've tried it and didn't have good luck with it. It made my wheels look great after I applied, but then any water that dried on them left streaks after a rain or something. the good look didn't stay

I just bought the Wheel Wax on sale. Smells great! I want to take a spoon and eat it up like pudding! Ha!

Looking forward to using it. Curious about it's durability. Maybe something can be applied on top of it? Any ideas?

I use the Turtle Wax Spray Wax, and no I don't spray directly on the wheel....... What I do is spray down my clean wheel rag w/ the spray wax and use that to get rid of any excess wheel dressing while at the same time waxing my rims..... works for me....

Be aware (as I'm sure most of you know) that when you use ANY wheel cleaner (even mild P21s), you strip off the protection you put on the wheels (eg Wheel Wax).

I had a discussion with Terry at CMA and he informed me of this - I had the same question regarding the theme of this thread. You can use your car wash soap to clean your wheels and the protection won't be stripped.

Since our wheels are so well protected, the car wash soap will do just fine.

I use EF Clear Pearl QD sprayed on an applicator first (recommended by Terry) then applied after washing. It quickly beefs up protection and shines beautifully. I use same method with Armor All or Turtle Wax spray (cheaper stuff) in the winter. Works great.
