Whats a good bug/tar remover

i was thinking of Poorboys Bug Squash..do i need to dilute that?



what are some other products?



seems like i saw that the purple power or whatever thts called that you can get locally is good



i bought some OTC stuff that isnt worth crap other than it smells all nice and lemony



do i need a specific product for bug/tar or is APC good? ive never used APC so i have no clue on it. i just dont want something that is real strong and i have to dilute it since id prb forget and id end up stripping the clear or something



where is a good place to buy empty bottles in case i get the bug squash or something i need to dilute ..local places that is?

I use APC, most of them diluted properly are just as good as any other 'bug remover'. Purple Power will work if diluted, just have to play with the ratios and see what works the best.
 
Bug Squash for normal use is diluted 3 parts water to one part product. I just received mine last week and so far it is doing well.

I have had good experience with the 32 oz bottles from lowes. They don't drip when upside down/tipped over(i hate that) and have dilution ratios on the bottle. They're like $1.98 ea
 
I've always used 2 totally different products/processes for bugs and tar. I never used a solvent to remove bugs and I never used an APC to remove tar?

i bet its these..how do they hold up? what are some APC's that Lowes carries so i can look at them when i go and Walmart since they are beside each other?

Won't clay take off the dried bug? I just drove 300 miles round trip on the FL turnpike and my car was a bug graveyard all over the front. I washed the car today and got most of it off but there is still a little residue.



If I get some of the Poor boy's stuff, will I have to rewax afterwards?

+1, Ive never understood the concept behind a dedicated bug remover.

Clay works. If the bugs are bad, soak a MF in a carwash solution and lay it on the bumper.



I would rewax if you spray an alkaline cleaner on your paint.
 
I think most commercial bug and tar removers are too strong for bugs - perhaps necessary for nasty stuck on tar. I think they may compromise the LSP just as many APC's may.



First, the best bug defense is a good LSP. I recently did my spring detail, documented elsewhere. I ran into a slew of bugs on a suicide mission on the highway two days later and just shook my head at the mess when I got to the hotel. The next day it rained and all the bugs were gone!!!



So give that nose some extry TLC when you're applying your LSP and/or topper.



Next, I am an ONR fan so I use ONR at QD+ strength (8oz/gal) and my secret weapon for stubborn bugs (er bug remnants) is the simple sponge with the nylon mesh netting - they just slide right off.

i clayed and it didnt get them all..of course it was my 1st time claying so i dunno
