What would you suggest for these faded B pillars?

They are an applique they will polish back to new with using a polish, then coat with your wax or sealant.

I gather they`re not as thin as the ones Mazda used on my MPV...which were compromised by three light by-hand uses of a Finishing Polish.

The answer to that is "it depends". If they are the plastic applique or inserts like some automakers use, then a quick pass with a polisher with a soft pad and an AIO or finishing polish will work just fine. If they are painted like my Toyota and my Honda Fit, then there might be the situation like you describe on your MPV.
My Toyota seems to have a fairly thick layer of paint which survives a quick pass of the polisher to remove any oxidation (it isn`t clear coated). My youngest`s daughter`s Honda Fit worries me. The previous owner didn`t spend as much effort on the outside as they did the mechanicals and I`m pretty sure the paint on those pillars is failing, not to mention the paint seems to be VERY thin.
3m Perfect-It worked really well. I tried M66 on the other side and the results were the same, so I am happy with the results.
Did a panel with the M66 on this black Subaru and it worked great.
Ordered some BF AIO and I will be anxious to see how it compares to the M66. Will arrive here on Thursday so I will not do anything until then - it will be hard but I will busy myself with other projects.

bcgreen- Ah, sounds like they`re tougher/thicker than I`d feared, that`s sure good news 
Desertnate- When the appliques are like the ones on that (terrible, terrible POS..) MPV even a Finishing Polish will compromise them in no time. I`d think twice about even AIOs with abrasives like ZAIO (which has no real cut on paint for me). I thought they were painted at first, but investigation proved that wrong.
