What would you charge to detail a Harley?

If I asked you to detail my Harley, what would you charge?

Assume regular road grime. Please list all services and a break down cost for each.

You can't pressure wash or spray it due to the electrical connections...the thing might not start again :(...so how would you go about it?

There are lots of nooks and crannies in a v-twin engine.

Most of our talented detailers will not give a price without seeing the vehicle in person, but if you could post up a picture or two, it might give them an idea of what they are getting into with your request.

Also, as prices vary by your geographic location, please indicate a rough area, so that you may receive the most applicable responses.

Thanks,

Norah

yeah depends on the size and the condition of your bike....i,ve done a couple bikes that werent that bad....washed, waxed, polished chrome, conditioned leather...50$. I dont' have a cost for each.

Yours would prolly be more expensive, being that ive done only small to medium size bikes.

Bike is ridden in PA.

Bike is a 94 hard tail lots of chrome do dads.

I'm not going to hold anyone to their priceses :), I'm just trying to see what the going rate is all.

Pics would help, but just to give you a range I detailed a family friend's 1997 Dyna Wide Glide (chromed out) for $50. He gave me a $25 tip, bringing the grand total to $75. It probably took me 2.5 hours (wash, polish, wax).

As far as cleaning the engine goes, I just used S100 Total Cycle Cleaner and used a light mist to wash it away. FWIW, the S100 cycle cleaning stuff does a good job of cleaning motorcycles. :D

Did you guys hose down the bike with h2o?

Yes.

What about chain lube slop? How did you get all under and around the frame?

I don't know a whole lot about bikes, but IIRC the one I cleaned has a belt instead of a chain. I would assume you could use an APC, diluted to your liking, to get it. S100 may have something for that, or you might could even use the engine cleaner for that as well. There's several options you could choose.

I charge around $75-$100 for a Harley. That's without seeing it (starting price). $50+ for sport type bikes.

During bike week behind the harley shop
in Daytona they get $100.00 and up depending
on model. And this was in 2000..... $50-$75 is to cheap!!
