What will happen if left without rinsing?!

Hi,

I was trying for the past couple of days to find a car washing shampoo or foam that would have the least negative effect on the car if left without very well rinsing. I could not. I know there are dry washing products but most if not all of them cannot be diluted with water and does not produce foam (foam gives me the good feeling that i am really washing my car!!)

So my challenging questions are:

- what will happen if i don't rinse the car well?
- do you any product that has zero or no side effects if not rinsed?
- do you know any waterless concentratedproduct that could be diluted with water and yet clean the car.
- do you know any foaming product that will give me foams on my waterless solution?

Thanks in advance.

A quick answer would be that you would be left with hard, soapy spots that would be a pain to remove. A good waterless wash product would be Poorboy's Spray & Wipe and a few good MF towels.

i can tell you that one time i waited too long to rinse. there were suds and stuff when i rinsed, but still, there was dirt that stuck to the paint. upon further inspection with a 500 watt light, the results were hedious. i had to re wash becasue dirt was clinging to my car, greatly reducing slickness. its hard to explain, but it was as if the dirt had dried on the car, but was almost invisible to the naked eye.

I think you got my question wrong?

I am asking what happens in case of drying the car with little rinsing or no rinsing and does these side effects appears on all car wash products?

what do you think

Sounds to me like they're addressing your question. Quick and Easy wash and Poorboys spray and Wipe are what you are looking for.

Why would you wash with soapy water, NOT rinse, but yet try to dry? Do you not have a water supply outside with you? If not, QEW or Poorboy's S&W seem to be good alternatives. If you do have the hose out there with you, then why not just rinse? Maybe I don't understand your question. :dunno

What happens when you brush your teeth and dont rinse your mouth?

What about if you wash your hair and dont risne it?

In the winter with the sun not being strong I will occasionallly bucket wash my car using QEW or regular car soap car without rinsing and may go to the DIY spray place 2-24 hrs later or just QD any soap residue left over once it dries. I have never had any ill effects doing this but my vehicle is white so the surface does not get very hot. It is a time saver plus you are doing less rubbing on the paint surface.

I would suggest not doing this on dark colored vehicles when the sun is strong and temperatures are above 75-80 Degrees F.

In answer to your question a couple things come to mind:
If you dry without rinsing you will in effect be leaving traces of shampoo on the finish which will attract dirt a lot quicker ... and probably cause streaking when you dry.
Another thing is that the dirt that gets loosened by washing will not get rinsed off and could cause some scratching when wiped across the paint.
Suddsing or foaming is not always an indication of a product disolving or loosening dirt.
If rinsing is a problem and the dirt isn't caked on your car, my suggestion is to try Poorboys Spray and wipe. It doesn't foam but actually disolves the dirt so it can be picked up and wiped away with a micro fiber towel. Spray and Wipe has more lubricity than most of the car wash shampoos on the market.
If you must use a car shampoo without rinsing, try 4* Ultimate Car Wash Shampoo using about half an ounce to a couple gallons of water. I don't know how it will look when you are done but this shampoo has excelent lubricity and rinses off very clean without spotting ... so it might work.
BTW ... The only dumb question is the one not asked :)
