What wax can I use that will not leave residue on moldings & trims?

NXT will not stain smooth plasic or rubber. Textured moldings such as the ones found on the tailgates and door handles of Ford/chevy trucks will stain for sure.

Products that do not stain in my experience:

TS

S100

EX

UPP

LS

AIO

SG

EX-P

#26

Deep crystal #3

Mother's pure carnauba

I am sure there are others that I am forgeting.

My experience is that EX-P stains textured trim badly, although I'm not sure it showed up right away, because I didn't notice it at first.

On Roadfly, I read that Einszett Glanz, Klasse AIO and Collinite do stain trim, while P21S, S100, and Zaino do not stain trim.

Might be due to different trim textures, different wo-wo, . . . .

By the wax, which paint cleaners stain trim?

On my toy test on textured plastic handle of a stainless pot, Meguiars Deep Crystal System Paint Cleaner left very tough white stain.

If a products's residue on trimcan be removed by wiping with quick detailer and towel, I think we should say it does not stain trim.

At least on my car and on that plastic handle, TurtleWax Super Hard Shell liquid did not stain trim. It left powdery residue, but the residue was removed by wind, rain quick detailer or car wash.

I've had no problems with NXT staining textured plastic. Be it old and weathered or new.

Perhaps what you're seeing as staining is actually some reconditioning? I've certainly had weathered plastic look newer with NXT and others over them.

Yeah, different surfaces/techniques might lead to radically different results. If somebody says Collinite and AIO stained their trim I believe them, even though it sure didn't stain the trim that *I* used it on. Gott be careful, or at least willing to take a risk.

Cleaners? I've used Pinnacle PCL to *remove* staining from textured black trim (fender flares, '87 VW).

I've regularly used S100, SG, AIO, and UPP in the last year, and not had any staining whatsoever. On my last car, I had some stains that I got from an old bottle of Meguiar's Gold Class.

I apply AIO- UPP to my rubber trim, looks great.

I keep PB's trim restore around for any problems that come up, and also to dress the textured plasitcs with it. Works really really well.

NXT does have a slight staining problem, but it is one of the easier ones to remove.
