What was your first car?

Mine was a white '66 Bel Air - 4dr. 283ci - 3spd on the floor. Bought it in 1978 for $350 and had no idea of how to drive stick. My cousin went with me to buy it and told me that he would drive it home and teach me how to drive it. (I was 17) As soon as I gave the guy the cash for the car my cousin ran to his car, got in and, as he sped away, yelled "Good luck"!! It was 5 milles from the house and it took me almost 3 hours to get home! It was in Vallejo which had a lot of hills and stuff so I obvisouly dumped the clutch a ton of times before figuring out the timing of the whole thing. The car turned out to be a gret first car that lasted a couple years until it went up in flames due to an electrical fire.....:(

Mine was an 88' Ford Mustang LX Hatchback- 4cyl. engine, 5-speed, non-working A/C, and a big rust spot on the roof, lol. Paid $2500 for it in 94'.

'62 black Bonneville convertible with a white top. I was 20 years old and an air traffic controller at Barbers Point Naval Air Station Hawaii. What a whopper that land yacht was!

I made sure every bar in Honolulu was safe from the communist threat :lol

93 Pontiac Firebird purchased in May of 2003, I am now on my third vehicle – Would love to get into a 2002 Trans Am one of these days in Sunset Orange

AGE? Read the second sentence of my post again. Nope no pictures, that was back in 1969-70, somewhere in there. I was too busy trolling for female tourists, no time for pictures.

Purchased from by brother (2nd owner) in '98. Given to my dad in 2003 when I bought a new car. Has served construction duty for over 4 years now. Only expected repairs and replacement parts. The truck now has over 250k miles on the original engine and transmission. It's been an amazing little truck and has been in my family since '93! I couldn't have asked for a better first vehicle. The darn thing still runs great and gets 18-MPG fully loaded with tools! Unfortunately, it doesn't look anywhere near as good as it did when the pic was taken :(

64 Volkswagen Beetle in Anthracite Gray. Got it in 67 with worn out king pins (suspension), worn out clutch, and bent piston rod. Got all that repaired and it went to drinking a quart of oil weekly and fouling sparkplugs. First and last car I let my Dad pick out for me. Sad thing was my money paid for it and the repairs. Despite all I loved that car. :chuckle:
