What was the weirdest thing you've ever detailed?

Ya'll must not be married with kids. I am reading these post going "Dang, I wish I had that kind of time". Sorry, being a stay at home dad of three under four years old can get to you sometimes.

A forklift I detailed for one of my customer's companies. Probably #81 and S100, if I remember right.

I started my detailing business as a single father with two kids, ages 4 and 6...and their mother lived 1000 miles away so it wasn't like I could take them to her place on weekends.

You can do it!

That is a real great idea! I Ran my own company doing remodeling work before I took off to take care of the kids. How did you get started? I don't mean to hijack this thread.

Short version-I detailed my brother's car, he drove it to work, calls me to tell me other people in his office want me to do the same to their cars. Just built it up from there.

That's how I got started. :up

Detail friend's car and neighbor's cars > detail friend's relatives' cars & neighbor's relatives' cars > and so on...

That's cool! That is how I would get business for my company. Once I did one house the neighbors and friends would see it and want to get theirs done. I would spend months in one neighborhood. It is nice to se that the detail business is the same.

A vintage telephone from the 1940's.

It was the original telephone in one of my client's summer home. He bought the home off one of the scientists on the Manhattan Project (the atomic bomb project for all those who don't know).

It is all plastic so I used AIO, Meguiars Plastic Polish and topped with #16!!

I detailed my rain gutters.......yes, you are reading that correctly. The neighbors were shaking their heads more than usual after that. But, the gutters were extremely dirty and cleaned up well!

I detailed my favorite belt :D The leather was a bit worn and the silver buckle tarnished. Several treatments of Lexol, AIO (X3), and HGSG (X2).

the weirdest thing i detailed was a submarine.. while it was still in the ocean... lol.

actually the weirdest thing i detailed was my leather wallet.. it needed some conditioning.

my other mach1/64th and mach 1/18th :D

plus my other model cars.

also, my mom recently got a new refrigerator with stainless steel doors. it had a lot of fingerprints, so i tried some AIO on it. but that was streaky, so i tried the stainless steel cleaner thing that came with the refrigerator and it worked nicely. anyone got any experience detailing a stainless steel refrigerator door? what to use? i'd like to put something on to keep the fingerprints to a minimum.
