What was the car of your dreams when you were growing up?

Ferrari 288 GTO!

Still my favorite car today too....

We're all car guys here. I assume, at some point, when you were growing up, you saw a car that just knocked your socks off!

For me it was the first time I saw the new '68 Corvette (Red/Red)... I'll bet my blood pressure shot up 50 points when I saw that car! (And I was only 16 years old.....)

What was yours?

Hey, I had that car! Only bad thing was it was supposed to be Internationl Blue (and it was in the shop all the time).

The car I wanted was a Triumph TR7. Thank goodness the dealer was 100 miles away and it was just out of my price range, those things never ran properly, but I loved the looks as a teenager in the late 70's.

The bad thing is I have dreamed about just about every car mentioned. I always liked the early 70's Pantera's as well. Too many cars, not enough money!!!!

jk

I'm with Dave on this a lot. I loved the original Vipers (the GTS coupes are STILL very awesome!) but the car that did it for me was a McLaren F1 (and still is)... Also the F355 Ferrari, Diablo, Testarossa, and F40.

I'm also a huge Corvette fan and spent a lot of my car guy youth fawing over the numerous gorgeous Corvette's...

In my collection (Corvette) I'll take a

When you look up the word "Car-Guy" in the dictionary... there's a picture of Todd!

My sister dated a neat guy, he had a '63 split window vette, then a Shelby 350 then 500 and those have always been cars that I associate with a different, better time. BUT two vehicles have really appealed to my sense of adventure; both Land Rovers-an early '70's series and a, say mid 90's Defender-diesel of course.

But sadly I will have to 'settle' for our '95 BMW R1100 GS

Mine was and still is the Dodge Viper. :drool5:

My dream was finally realized as I bought an 01 Sapphire/Silver GTS two years ago and have to say the car is living up to my dreams. I love it, it attracts a lot of attention and has GOBS of torque. Mine is 1 of 86 in that color combo so it is not something you see every day on the street.
