What type of machine polisher do you use the most. Feel free to tell us why below.

Porter Cable 7436.......and why?......its because thats the tool a friend of mine loaned me to try out........(admittedly not the best reason)

but it has always worked well for me...

I have a Flex 3401 and a UDM 1.0. I use the Flex most because it works the best for me for correction. When I used the DA, you always had to worry about pressure, pad stoppage, etc. With the flex, just hold it flat with a little pressure and let it do its work. It also vibrates less.

I use the UDM for 4-in pad use and spreading wax/pre-wax cleaners.

I have not had a chance to use mf pads so want to try the Optimum mf pads soon with the Flex (Mark uses it so must be decent).

For me its not about which one I use the most, but more of which machine is right for the job.

That said if I start with the rotary, I'm going to finish with the orbital. On some jobs, the orbital is enough to do the correction needed.

I have two GG 6" I use the most, followed by my Makita 9227c. I gave away my PC, no need for it anymore. My GG 6" do everything the PC does, but with way more power. Makita, obviously, when I need that extra cutting ability or on certain paints.

GG6 for most jobs. I use the rotary for compounding or heavy polishing, but I always finish with the DA.

I prefer to do my correction with the DA as much as possible as it helps to create a smoother cut that is easier to finish, for finishing I actually like to use the rotary real slow with a nice soft pad.

This is a tough poll I use my Flex Da and my Dewalt a ton Just depends on the car. I like the rotary better because when holding it I get the urge to grunt like Tim the tool man :D.

Definitely the griots DA. My PC sees a fair amount of use, but not as much as it used to. the PC is strictly for 3-4inch pads now

I really only use the rotary for marine work and headlights

I'm a old wheel guy from the early 70's and learn the hard way. Love using the PC with all the great products that one can use to correct one's vehicle.

Griot's Garage 6" for me. After my PC died after only a year (got it fixed for free, which was nice) I decided I needed a backup, the PC is covered in dust, the GG provides a LOT more performance.

I have 4 6" da's and a 3" of three different brands set up with 5",3" and a carpet scrub brush.( I'm too lazy to keep changing pads lol)They all serve their purpose very well. Lately I have added a Dynabrade da attachment to my Flex 3403 rotary. I'm love this combo for large flat areas.

ATM, I primarily use my Griots & PC for correction and my Metabo for jewelling. Then again, my Flex is scheduled to arrive on Friday.... ;)

I think the most prolific machine on the market is without a doubt the Porter Cable 7424 type polisher. It's size, friendliness, ease of use, and price make it one attractive package.

This will account for the majority of the of users.

Eight times our of ten I start with my rotary as it works easily and quickly to correct surface defects then my Flex 3401 finishes up very nicely...:bigups

I think every noob should own one. For the price you pay and the bang you get it's worth every dollar.
