I have a 1998 Pontiac Grand Prix and it is the Silvermist. I waxed it about a year ago and I am getting ready to do it again. But this time I want to do it right..So my question is what are the best products to use on it....I will be using the claybar...and I want to use a polish, and then a wax..and maybe some more steps if someone suggests something different.. What is the best and easiest polish to use ( im just learning, not an expert yet) and then the best wax..... I hear the the NXT is good on metallic paint...and i hear the S100 is a good thing to use too.. So what are the best products to use?:nixweiss

I would definitley choose VM and EX-P for a silver car. If you want you could also go with a carnauba wax on top of that to make it look wetter. NXT with S100 wouldn't look to bad either. By the way, Welcome to Autopia!

I have VM/EX-P on one car and tried VM/UPP on my other silver car. I prefer the UPP overall in appearence. I have also tried NXT, which darkens the paint IMO, a look that may or may not be desired.

can i put these products on by hand? because i do not have a buffer yet....thanks for the replies i appreciate it alot.... any other suggestion...

Welcome to Autopia ! ! ! :bounce

I agree on the sealant, but Try a couple three layers of the sealant before you try topping.... I like Zaino , but EX-P is very nice also, I have used it with excellent results without any other product on top. It really depends on your eye ! :xyxthumbs

Putting it on by hand would not be a problem at all.
