What to try next? Swirls

I own a mobile detailing company and have been going strong for a while. I use poorboys most of the time for exterior detailing with my PC. Sometimes i need to detail a car that has TONS of swirls and poorboys sometimes doesnt cut it (i love poorboys btw). What else can i try with my PC that will get out swirls and that is also safe to use.
(today i detailed a black bmw that had tons of swirls, i used the whole poorboys line up including ssr3 with an edge yellow pad and it got out a lot of the swirls but not all)
 
it's the type of paint on the bmw I find. The pc and poorboys will do abit but not too much. Bet you got a nice shine though. I find that the only way to get rid of all the swirls on BMW'S is to use a rotary. On almost any other vehicle poorboys via pc does a great job of reducing/elimatining the swirls

I had a similar problem with an RX8 I did over this weekend. The swirls didn't seem to be touched even after ssr3. I thought it might have been the paint but I thought surely it couldn't be THAT hard. Interesting.

I agree with you but i have had it happen to me with other cars too, Nissan, Jaguar, Audi......
Just wondering what else i can use with my pc (and with which pad/s) that can kill those damn swirl marks!
 
The most aggresive pad for the PC would be the Megs Maroon. I believe the LC yellow is about the same combined with DACP or SSR2.5 would give the toughest bite. I don't think SSR3 is meant for the pc because the pc cannot produce the heat needed to break it down or so i've read.
 
Sam I think it's time for you to get a rotery. Just how bad were the swirls though? Could you feel them? Did they wash the car with an old rag with sand on the car?
 
You should get yourself some top of the line/Hi-Temp heavy cut. They have several formulas, I use their HT-375 on wrecked finishes. Cuts through the mess in no time.

You could also try using wool pads. I know alot of people say they're nothing but hologram installers. Sometimes you need the extra bite that they provide. As long as you use them correctly they won't harm the finish.

I second that notion. Bmw paint is the hardest i have ever seen. My first BMW litterally brought tears to my eyes. Why me, why, why me..... :-(
 
I have never used a rotary so thats something i would have to learn. There is nothing else i can use with a PC? Anyone have links to good swirl removers that i can use with a PC? Hows wolfgangs total swirl remover?

To be honest with you the only thing that will get the honest result that you are looking for is a rotary. You can use filler waxes or glazes to acheive the same results with a false finish which will wash away eventually.

I think the problem is that your eyes are well trained, more so than your customers. Get a shine out of it and leave it is my personal recommendation. Moving to a rotary has its benefits as well as it cons. The con is that everyday we ride up and down the highways and byways and the trainded eye will see Buffer swirl everyday on atleast five or more vehicles. The question is do you want to be the one who puts the buffer swirl there with your inexperience with a rotary or do you want to achieve the results the customer is looking for which is clean and shiny. Save the rotary for your own car and practice until you get it right but please for the love of man don't use a rotary on your customers cars without EXPERT, EXPERT, EXPERT experience.

oh and i would go with the mother's power polish, glaze and the carnuba. The three step system...It hides really well. or you could do the colorx and nxt
 
My father has a Lexus LS430 that is really hard to do anything with a PC. If I'm not mistaken, I think we even had a rotary on it and that didn't even cut it.
