What to do with dirty MF's ? Quick question...

This question applies to mostly mobile operators, but i guess could be addressed to fixed locations too !

If your mobile, and your doing a job, you can go through maybe a dozen or so MF's. What do you do with those towels once there beyond additional use ? I throw em in the corner somewhere, and pick them up when im finished. Then toss them in a bucket that i was washing with, haul them upstairs, and wash whenever i find time, or its convenient.

How do you store or what do you do with your dirty towels until its wash time ???
 
Funny but, exactly what you do with the exception of I bring a plastic bag along to throw them in. I hate to pick up the dirt and whatnot that's on the ground as MF doesn't like to let them loose.
 
I have a big plastic tub I throw my used towels into. I wash them soon after use, but if they were gonna sit for a while I might put some water and detergent in there for them to soak in.
 
I use the mesh laundry bags. The reason is, if I dont get to them, they can still breathe and not have a chance to mold or mildew. (I am speaking of those that are damp, buffing towels I keep seperate).
 
I throw mine in an old laundry soap bucket. When I get to the top it's time to wash them. I never let a MF hit the ground, at least on purpose.
 
I keep them in an empty 2 gallon bucket specifically for this purpose.



When it's filled after EACH detail, I dump into the wash.



Cotton towels, I do the same.



If some are really icky, I just keep them separate in my wash bucket and wash them on their own
 
I store mine in rubbermaid clear plastic bins.



When dirty I have one that is for dirty towels. I just plop them in there and then off to the washer when I am done.
 
On the job? I take them out and keep them on the front passenger seat of my car stacked up. I take them as needed. This way they, stay clean and dry neatly folded up in my car.



When dirty, I put them in that 2 gallon bucket I mentioned.
 
When freshly washed I put 5 towels in a 1 gallon zip lock freezer bag and roll it to get all the air out. Bags are cheap and it keeps the towels dust and moisture free until ready to be used. It also makes a LOT of towels fit into a very small area.

Yep that's what I do. I have my MF and terry towels in a container and my buffing pads, applicator pads in another container and when either of them gets during, I just throw them in a cheap laundry basket and when I get home throw em in the washer after making sure there's no rogue pieces of clothing in there as well.

Same here. They are well made and inexpensive. They are particularly good at keeping the dirt out.



For something a bit more upscale for the garage (obviously not mobile use) I saw a really cool item at Sam's Club. They have a rack for the garage that has 27 blue pastic bins that are open to reach in with your hand. I think this would be an excellent way to sort clean and dirty towels. You could have some bins for glass MFs, wax removal MFs, buffing MFs and towels, waffle weaves, and then a couple for used MFs to store up for the next washing...I think it was about $100 but you can use extra bins to store product and detailing tools....
 
My dirtied ones go in a palstic pail with * Dirty MF* on the lid. When clean they are stored in a tower with drawers and separated 1) Drying towels 2) General towels 3) Polishing towels . I take 2 & 3 out to the job. along with the Dirty MF Pail.
