how do you get rid of water spots on a black benz?

also how do you tell if there just water spots or acid rain etching? it seems like if i wet my finger and rub the spot much of the dirt comes off but there still seems to be the edges of the water spot mark on the finish.

how is this corrected?

I'm guessing that this a newer car with a clear coat.

I would wash & dry
Clay bar
polish
swril remover
glaze
wax

I have a black car and do quite a lot of dark colors. This si a car that I did this last week. It had a boat load of swrils and some water marks
