What the hell is that?

I was wondering if the Quick Detaing spray contains wax (or polymer, depending on the brand).

For example, I use Zaino, and I'm wondering if the QD spray contains diluted Z1 or Z2.

Meaning, if I wax my car, then use QD spray, am I adding new wax to the wax already on the car?

Well, letsee... "Z-6 contains seven optical clarifiers," and "unique wet gloss enhancers to increase the 'wet-looking', mile-deep Show Car Polish shine. Forms a tough molecular bond with Show Car Polish to increase the depth of gloss, optical clarity, slickness, durability and reinforce the UV(40) protection."

So it sounds like they put something in to make Z-6 <em class='bbc'>better[/i], but it's not Z-2? DETAILKING, do have any more info about Z-6?

As for Eimann Fabrik, Pinnacle, Meguiar's QuikWax, or One Grand Show-Off, all of them contain some wax. Sonus is supposed to contain Klasse in it too.

And a few members showed the MSDS for 3M Gloss-Enhancer, and it was not much but water and alcohal. So I guess I differs for each product. Or maybe the alchohal makes the wax to come off, and when you buff, you buff it back in?

Thanks for the reply.

I had always wondered if QD's are just some form of their regular wax diluted and sold as a different product.

Call sal, he will give you the deal on Z6.......

Most ertailer QD'ers are nothing more than some sort of solvent like propanol, IPA,etc, etc, some type of oil for shine like silicone or mineral, and water. They all serve a common purpose, to remove dust safely with added lubrication, and to compliment a nicely done detailing job between sessions. Some are better than others.

I really doubt any are diluted forms of wax. If a formulation could be emusified (VERY HARD TO DO!) don't you think that product would be sold as a spray on wipe off system?

Our maintance product, Wonder Wash is an emulsified polyethelene system that does just that, but much thicker than the ones most are used to.

We used to produce a product we called Fast Finish, was more like the ones all are used to.

It was IPA, water, a clear PDMS and 2% emulsion of synthetic carnuaba.

I took it out of the line as we felt it was pure bull as while it cleaned light dirt, finger prints etc, was not a truly substanial product.

Hey Ron,

What do you do for a living.

I'm guessing from your previous posts, it has something to do with cars.

DetailKing,

I already have Z6 - as a matter of fact, just about the whole Z line.

I've been using wax and detail sprays for years.

I was just wondering what was in the stuff I was using. You know, the kind of mindless junk that floats through your brain as you clean the car.

How long you been in the golf buisness. Im just taking it up seriously after years of non-serious play. Hoping that and baseball can be my two major sports.

I am 57, my mother started me when I was 9.

I have quit the game more times than I have been married and divorced!

Am still a hacker, but love the game, the courses, and it is great for business.

All the excutives in the auto companies play or try to play golf, so it is very good for the opportunity to have 4 to 6 hours of getting to know them, how they think, a little bonding while enjoying a sport or activity that you can take part in for years past your prime with other sports.

OK, got a call from a good friend with a 2008 red, VW Jetta wagon - TDI, that had a problem with his paint. There were these splotches on the drivers door and back seat door (driver's side). It looked like residue from tape, BUT! it was smooth, not sticky and you could only see it at certain angles. I tried clay, nope, then adhesive remover, alcohol, Goo-Gone..nada. Then I buffed it off with SIP, orange pad, PCXP - BINGO!

Just weird and I wondered if anybody had seen something like this. Oh, he did say that the car had been a bodyshop a few months ago to be repaired (got rear ended).
