What soap:water ratios in foaming guns

For those using the foaming guns/gilmour variant, what ratiosn of car wash soap/water are you using in the bottle ?

iirc, accumulator would mix 4-5 ounces of car soap into a plastic one gallon jug (mixed & shaken very well of course), and would use it straight from that into the foam gun. it would also save you time that you have a pre-mix, rather than have to make a new batch every time you want to use the foam gun...

Yeah, that's right. Though I've been using a slightly stronger mix recently (~6 oz. shampoo/gallon).

Accumulator, can the Gilmore gun be adjusted to shoot the soap mixture onto the side of a house for washing? This is important to me.

I would say no. Maybe if it's lower area but the gimmour gun is not a pressure washer ;-)

The soap mixture can be adjust on the go so it's not a hard set rule on the soap/water solution you have in the tank as on the bottle itself, the settings go from 1-6 oz per gallon via the soap gun.

I keep a gallon jug of water mixed with 5 ounces of Gold Class and 2 ounces of Meguiar's #62.

The #62 adds loads of slickness and lubrication which is what I'm after more than foam.

I am not asking if it is a pressure washer. I am asking if it will shoot a stream of suds water 15 feet are so onto a building, a long handled brush will handle it from there, with no fuss or muss ! This is a question of capability of a product .

changeling- Nah, I don't see it spraying ~15' even with my boosted water pressure. Not the right tool for that job IMO.

Hey Accumulator

Found any new carwash soaps you like or it's all Griots for you as well these days.

I'm almost of out my Griots Car Wash and have not played with alot of car wash soaps after using Griots due to it's lubricity factor.

I've stuck with Griot's, though the current ~$40/gallon + ship is a bit much....still I don't want to risk causing headaches by trying to save some money.

Seems like every time somebody says how great a different shampoo is, it ends up being *almost* as good as Griot's (once tested by somebody familiar with the Griot's). When I hear of something that's hands-down *better* maybe I'll try it, but until then I'm sticking with what works so well for me.

BTW, in addition to the lubricity, I'm still impressed with how well it cleans while being so gentle on my LSPs. Few products in any category have impressed me as well as the Griot's shampoo. Heh heh, I've even washed dogs with it
