What sealants are durable?

What sealants are durable? It seems they are either durable or look great. There is one that comes to mind that does both but I would like to hear which ones you think look great, and which ones are more durable, and which ones you feel do both.

My top 2 choices would be Zaino and Finish Kare #2180.

Looks.... that's to subjective to comment on. Everyone has his/her own preference.

Durability: #2180 is very durable. I got had 5+ months on a few cars that I tested last year. Up to this point (3.5 months), Z has shown very good durability too. On my personal rides, I don't think I'll ever know because I don't leave them untouched long enough.

For upkeep (slickness/gloss), #425 on Finish Kare, and Z6 or Z8 on Zaino. #425 also works well with Z FWIW.

In my eyes, Z is superior in looks, durability, and slickness retention. Other people are going to like brand 'x' better, so you might want to try a few sealers and see for yourself.

One of the very few 'boutique' sealers that I haven't tried is Blackfire Wet Diamond all Finish Paint Protection. I have a bottle on order, and will give it a try in the next week or so.

I've used both Zaino and PB's EX. Both look nice and last quite a while. EX feels a bit more like a wax on the car, Zaino (when combined with Z6 or Z8) is more slippery than anything I've ever come across (not necessary indicative of anything obviously).

I've gotten very good durabilty out of PB EXP. It HAS to cure though, otherwise durability is compromised. (i.e. if its about to rain, don't bother).

Nobody knows.
Really, no one does, except chemists.
We feel like the wax or sealant is still beading. We can see how they sheet or not. But how are they holding up against the elements: UV, acid rain, salt air, washing damage, etc?
You have to trust your products, but I haven't seen anyone do an objective test. A shine test? Yes, there are threads. Beading test? Sure, good deal. But durability?
That's why I go for good boutique products that are good in areas of shine, application, beading, and resistance against bird & bug explosions.
Call me negative, but someone show me the evidence.

Very good point and very well put. That being said, I'm a big fan of PB's EXP. I always coat it with Natty's though.

the only true long lasting sealants I have used are Zaino and FK1 2180. I prefer Fk1, but other like the Z. Its all subjective.

That's why I use EX-P: Trust. I trust the company using the products that I can tell whether they work or not.

And I see the result in the other factors.

I have a litre of Sealant Glaze that I might sell down the road. Just not a big fan.

I'm along with PEI on this...how can you measure durability of a sealant, how can you tell once its worn off the clear coat...Even a non-protected clear coated car will look shiny and bead up a bit.

Durability is subject to how a car is stored, driven and weather....My cars are garage queens, only driven 25 miles a day at the most, and here in CA we don't have real bad weather...so how long would a sealant last under those circumstances?

I don't have an answer for this because I clean and play around with the paint all the time.

To give you my preference on Sealants...only from a shiny stand point...WG and EX-P

Zaino
Mother's Reflection Line

All of these make for great durability. But each has different shine properties.

I concur.

I have tried everything out there sans Werkstatt and BF, but Zaino has held up most effectively to the elements for the longest period of time.

Since Klasse's reformulation due to VOC regulations, it has fallen off the durability chart.
