What products are you using?

Professional Detailer
I have been detailing professionally for some 10 years and have used many different products , currently I'm using Griots Garage products and have been for about a year now. I first thought they would be to expensive to use but it ends up being the same as the pro products I was using before. I wanted to see what some others are using any one using really high end products?

Thanks , sorry for the long post.

Define "really high end". Do you mean those pricey Zymol rip offs, or just the normal high priced (relatively) Zainos and Pinnacles? There are other products that are high priced because we buy them in bulk. There are several industrial detailing supply companies who offer some high end products that people use. I guess its different for everybody.

I use a little of everything. I've got 3M, Meguiars, Klasse, Blackfire, Platinum, Armor All, Eagle One, One Grand, P21S, 303, Autoint, Mother's, Pinnacle, etc. Pretty much you name it and I've got something they make rattling around in my garage. Just about everything but Zaino and a few other brands that I'm going to be trying out next year.

Basicly, we use it all here at Autopia. Very rarely have I seen someone throw out the name of a product where at least half a dozen people don't chime in with their experiences with it.

I use pretty much all Pro (prowax.com) products. There is a local dist so I buy there stuff. So far I'm happy with everything I've used.

There are a few other distributors of stuff around here. I'm going to go try to see some of their products eventually. I think Carbrite has a place here as well as Production.

ok I should have been more clear , I was thinking along the lines of Zaino , Einszett , Auto Glym , ect. Are you saying Zymol is a rip off didn't get that part. If so I concour. lol thanks for the imput , like I said I've been using griots for a while now and I'm really happy with it , but I would like to try some others like Einszett , Zaino and Auto Glym , but I'm not sure how cost effective it will be. Currently I am charging $150.00 for a full detail with two coats of Griots best of show. I have room to charge more if I can show the customer better results. thanks

I have everything in the arsenol(sp?) but you need a variety of different prducts to use for diferent situtions, one brand dones do it all for me, not that I have found yet.

Best bet is to use what you feel is the best, for time, money and yeilding results.

I wouldn't use Zaino for pro detailing. To time consuming and the customer won't want to pay that much since you can get just as good or better protection with other products.

Pro's Profection, Detail Plus' Diamond Plus, Autoint's Paint Sealant, etc.

I use Meguiars Body Shop Professional line for surface prep and S100 paste wax for most wax jobs, but if I am in the direct sun, I use either American Shine Carnuba or Moosewax. Magnum upholstry shampoo for fabric and carpets and a mix of Woolite and water for leather cleaning. Protect All Quick and Easy Wash for washing.

I mainly use Pro Products. They have everything I need, plus they have a distributor in the area that comes to my house.

I also use some Stoner products; Trim Shine, Invisible Glass and Interior Shampoo.

Stick with the products that work best for your needs.

thanks for the imput NJDetailer , where are you in NJ , so you also work out of your house or are you mobiile?

I have had good results with Meguiare's Professional line, Final Polish, P21S. Cleaners and Polish done with PC, Paste Wax done by hand.

But take a look at SCOTTWAX's work (the pics of the cars details say it all) and he uses Meguiar's Pro line.

Have you tried Pro's Aerosol Glass Cleaner? It is AGC-18 and is only like $4 a can ($32 for a case) and a can will last a long time. One quick burst in the center is all you need. It works awesome at getting that yellow film off from smoking and off-gasing from the windows. I can also get streak free windows in the burning sun with the cleaner steaming off the glass. I use it along w/ yosteve mf towels. I only use Mf towels for the windows and yosteve towels don't leave any lint. I get lots of comments on how the windows are always streak free.

Link? I'll have to try that once my 5 gallon container of Eagle 20/20 runs out sometime in mid 2008!

Hey Detailbarn,

I'm in the Caldwell's. I'm mobile, although I do have a few customers that drop their cars off at my house. I have 5 ambulances to do and 4 vans for an electrician (all in indoor garages) then I'm pretty much done for this year until spring, unless we get some warm days.

Intel486 I haven't tried Pro's Aerosol Glass Cleaner. I'll have to ask the distributor for a sample next time I see him. I've been using invisible glass for a couple years and I really like it.

What kind of towel do you use on the windows? Microfiber? Surgical Towel? Newspaper? Paper Towel?

Sonex,Castrol,Fare'cla, norton, ultra gloss, autosol, ferris, the names just keep on coming. Sounds like you've got all you need though.
