what pads to use with 105 205 po85

105: LC yellow, orange, Meg's MF, Opt. MF or Surbuf.

205 & 85rd. LC white, black, H2O Tang or Crimson.



It all depends on the paint and your preference. Some people are heavy handed with a polisher while others get tired and sloppy and don't apply enough. Certain pads will be more comfortable and effective for specific users.
 
I generally use microfiber cutting pads with #105, with #205, I prefer to use Meguiars yellow foam polishing pads. Don't use PO85 so I won't comment on it.
 
do you guys have any experience with the uber pads? / what do you think about them?



and as for the MF pads, which ones are you using, because it seems recently every company is shopping a MF pad line
 
SON1C- I've only used the Meg's MF cutting pads, but they work well with M105. I also use M105 with orange foam, purple foamed wool, and sometimes with foam polishing pads.



I use M205 mainly with Meguiar's yellow polishing pads and Griot's Orange polishing pads.



[INSERT my usual caveats about those M205 oils here!]



I've yet to try my PO85RD but I hear it doesn't like blue finishing pads...not that there's only one type of "blue finishing pad".
 
I like using 105 with mf or surbuf pads. I just find those combos cut better without the heat.



Cant speak on the others as ive never used them.
 
105 w/MF, Yellow Foam, or Orange Foam; 205 w/MF, White Foam, or Green Foam; PO85 w/anything softer than what you used w/the 205 (usually black or one of the lesser dense green pads).



Uber/Buff & Shine pads (same pad, different label) are actually pretty nice for their value. The velcro is glued on with some insanely durable glue and can withstand a huge amount of abuse.
 
I'll echo what SpoolinNomore said. With my Griots PC I use 105 with LC orange pads and 205 with LC white. I have used Uber green with 205 and they seem to work fine with it. Finishes down nicely...but I think the LC white finish off slightly better. They just seem to leave things a little clearer.



I do think the average weekend warrior could get by with just LC orange and white pads. They really are that versatile.

LC White finishes better than Uber Green? I prefer to use the Uber Green.
