what magazine(s) do you subscribe to?

BlackElantraGT, any problems getting them to stop if you don't want to renew? Or is that through the magazine publishers?

Your credit card is not on file with the ebay reseller nor the publishers since you pay via PayPal, so you do not have to deal with them automatically renewing your subscription without your knowledge.

To try and get away with me complaining about her excessive shopping, my wife has ordered magazines the usual way (sending in the prepaid slip inside the mag) and man, it is a hassle. She's had to deal so many times with the credit card companies asking them to take the unauthorized charges off.

You will get the renewal emails and letters from the publishers like usual though.

I forgot to mention that if you do buy a subscription on eBay, just like anything else you buy on there, read the description carefully to make sure it is what you're looking for. I would hate for someone to think they got a good deal only to realize that they bought a digital subscription (which I get a few of for free, but have never read because it requires a computer and their special reader software).

Actually, that is the best part of Playboy (I haven't read or seen any since borrowing some from friends back in junior high and high school.) I guess for me, if I wanted to get my rocks off, I prefer the hardcore stuff. I cannot stand watching/looking at softcore porn, it is pointless. If I was 13 and all I had access to was something like a Playboy magazine or Red Shoe Diaries on Showtime, I can see why one would watch/look at that. But with access to the internet nowadays, you have a plethora of JO material to fulfill any fantasy you want so why even bother?

Kids have it so easy these days. I remember back in the day when there was usually one kid in school who had access to porn magazines from his uncle, dad, or grandpa. He was like the drug dealer of grade school. I've forgotten many of my classmates, but I still remember the kid's name who used to show us his porn collection. We went through so much trouble not to get caught. Nowadays, all these kids have to do is go online.

well said. holds true even 40 years ago! :rofl

Sheesh, this list looks *ridiculously* long now that I see it all typed out  And yeah, I *do* read 'em all ;) but not all cover-to-cover.

I have to say that out of all the car magazines I've gotten, Car & Driver along with Modified are probably my least favorite.

I don't like Car & Driver because its layout feels outdated compared to Motor Trend, Road & Track, or Automobile. It's hard enough for me to keep my attention, but C&D just doesn't do anything to make me want to sit and read through it.

I don't like Modified because they write like it was intended for high school boys not even of age to drive. The magazine is thick, but more than half of it are advertisements. Their reader's mail section is a joke because all the editors ever do is slam the writers like how little teenage kids would argue. There's not enough technical information in it either so the magazine is more about looking at pictures.

Out of the tuner mags, Sport Compact Car is my favorite but it's been downhill for some years now. For awhile, there was hardly any content in it. You could sit and read through it in less than half an hour. They are trying to improve though, but now IMO they're kinda overdoing it with the technical aspects of it. Dave Coleman's section has probably been most peoples' favorite section, but now not only do we have his section, but Jay Chen also writes another technical section, and I just think most of the stuff they're talking about is way above most people's intelligence. We're not all engineers after all. And it seems like they go through so much trouble and waste so much time trying to make little graphs and charts that I could care less about. Put that focus on writing more interesting articles.

Utne

Mental Floss

New Yorker

Shambhala Sun

Fine Cooking

The Walrus

New York Review of Books

I'd subscribe to others, but they'd just start to pile up all over the place.
