What kind of vacuum do you use?

I have 4 vacuum cleaners for the cars I detail.

1. Craftsman Shop Vac For the really big stuff. Dried mud, sand, gravel, etc.

2. Dirt Devil Upright with tools Surprisingly, this is the vac I seem to use the most for "normal" carpet, floormat and upholstery vacuuming. Great suction with the hose accessories.:thumbup:

3. Eureka "Toolbox" Vac I initially bought this vac because it was in a convenient toolbox format, but it just doesn't have any sucking power. Great design, but poor performance. I guess that explains the cheap price. NOT recommended.

4. Dirt Devil Hand Vac Powerful motor, really good for large flat surfaces, like the rear carpet pad of an SUV. Not good for smaller areas such as the crevices near the seat tracks.

I use a shop vac for just about everything,

I am trying to remeber which one i HAVE..........
 
Metropolitan Vac ?N Blo -vacuum with a 95-inch water gauge static lift (this thing sucks LOL)
 
I have 4.0hp 9gal. Craftsman, W/ car kit (don't like) crevice tool, brush, 12 ft hose, takes to long of time to vacuum. Need tool like one's at car washes.
 
Craftsman 12 gallon/ 5.0 peak HP. A year or so ago I switched out the two hoses which came with the vac for the Mr. Nozzle hose. The hose kit included two tools, a claw and a crevice.

Mr. Nozzle
Pros:
  • Hose length (reach)
  • Hose flexibility
  • Hose durability (assumed based on perceived construction quality)

Cons:
  • Fit and finish of tools.
  • The hose cuff doesn't include the "locking" feature of the factory hose. This is the subject of some frustration when re-positioning the vac.
  • The numerous tools I have do not fit the Mr. Nozzle hose.

The claw tool fits the hose cuff adequately, but the crevice tool fits so poorly that it often comes off during use.

When I replace this vac, my current leaning is to the Fein Turbo I. Anyone out there using a Fein?
 
12 gal, 5 hp Rigid. Lots of power, hose is too big sometimes. Got one of those reducers to use some of the smaller tools, such as the crevis tool...

I used to use just my big ole Shop Vac and it's nice, but recently got one of the Metro Vac 'N Blo's. It's AWESOME. The only thing it can't do is wet vacuuming, but I use either the shop vac or my Bissel Little Green Machine for that.

LOVE the Metro Vac N Blo. It's great for scaring the water off the car after a wash as well!
