What is your FAVORITE wheel tools.....

I still have some of those left and they look pretty much identical to the one pictured. I got mine in a Walgreens but that was quite a few years ago.

The Wheelwoolies look promising...not sure how well they'd work on c6 rims though. I imagine the handle would have to flex a bit in order to clean the tight areas just behind the spokes.

I absolutely love using the wheel woolies. It would be awesome if one had a 90* bend, but generally I have been able to clean the whole wheel with the various sizes of the woolies.

John you can basically kill the foam with your EZ brush by just putting an ounce of shampoo in your wheel bucket, blasting it into foam with some solution and then doing your regular cleaning. I use it like this all the time and splatter is an absolutely minimum now.

Thanks for the tip Mike. I'd never have thought of that so I'll give it a try and see how little splatter I get (on myself).

I purchased an EZ Detail brush to clean the inside of my rims, but the bristles were way too soft. The reach was fine, but that was about it. Anyone know of any similar type brushes with hard bristles??

Heh heh...and here I think they're not soft enough! If I wouldn't use it on the hood of a black [whatever] I don't touch my wheels with it :grinno:

My absolute favorite: the simple puff scrubber....

Those look very similar to the Quickee Sponge Mops that I like. They're not thin enough for use on the S8 though.

Would be a nice invention! I may just buy some heavy guage wire (something flexible) and make one myself by wrapping some old micofiber towels around the end. Would be great for getting the inside of the rims. I think the woolies and the microfiber wands may work ok.

I hear you, though i'm looking to clean the inside of my rims. I definitely don't use anything rough to clean the face of my rims.

This sounds exactly like what I bought at home depot in the cleaning section for $4.

Here is what I use for my very delicate wheels, and would highly recommend this approach for those who, like me, are paranoid about scratching their wheels:

1. Griot's half cut sheepskin wheel washing mit, to get the outside of the wheel & around spokes -> Lambskin Four-Finger Mitt - Griot's Garage , and

2. PepBoys sheepskin wheel cleaning stick, to clean the rest of the inside of the rim (I wish the stick holding it was a little longer but is the only sheepskin I was able to find -> Carrand Sheepskin Wheel Cleaner | Product Details | Pep Boys

* Here is another one that I found while looking for the link which seems interesting & I might try due to how thin it is and would be ideal to get between calipers -> Carrand Sof-Tools Bend & Wash Wheel Cleaner | Product Details | Pep Boys

Idz21- Yeah, that little Griot's mitt is great, much better than I'd expected. I do generally reserve it (and other non-BHB wheel wash media) to the back sides/barrels though.

I've been sampling various puff scrubbers (see Brad's posts) and think the tool is pretty good for this task. However, some of the brands I have tried don't last more than two or three uses before all the foam starts to pull off and end up on the driveway. All I've seen have the metal stem which I'm not keen about. I found a new brand (Mr Clean) a couple weeks ago at the ($2) dollar store and they are holding up better, but still have that metal stem.

Here's another one I found yesterday at "Price Chopper", $3:

Foam fingers appear to be denser and a bit more robust compared to the others I have.

I've used baby milk bottle cleaners in the past....

I was a skeptic as I have and use the Ace Powersticks.

Ordered up the Wheel Woolies everyone raves about ( I felt it was overlap between what I was already using).

I think the Ace Powersticks will be used now for *deep* wheel cleaning and the wheel woolies for more DD wheel cleaning.

Still use retired sheepskin mitts on the face and the back of the spokes.

WW for the barrels though. Worth the $50 for them....

I never ordered Wheel Woolies but I think I might break down and do so. Not only just for my wheels, but the spaces on the front grille of my car are so "tight" that I think the wheel woolie will fit nicely in there to clean them.

Most of the wheel tools Ive seen have a metal core or at least a vinyl covered metal core. Those always scare me, its like using a cheap MF towel on paint: I assume its going to mar the finish no matter how careful I am.

This looks like a good price for them (2 pack for $16.99 on Amazon) -> Griot's Garage 15704 Micro Fiber Wheel Wand, (Pack of 2) : Amazon.com : Automotive

Compared to Autogeek, selling a 3 pack for $49.99 where you'll also need to pay tax & shipping -> Wheel Woolies 3-Piece Kit, wheel cleaning tools, wheel brushes

I went with the Adams variant. Apparently, so the forum peeps go, the adams is longer and is the ~preferred~ variant out of all the WW

Do you know what makes Adam's the preferred variation? I see the 3 stick pack goes for $49.95 + tax + ship here -> Wheel Brushes | Wheel Cleaning Tools | Auto Detail

The same 3 stick pack, by Chem Boys, sells for $43.65 on Amazon w/ no tax & free ship -> Chemical Guys ACC_M10 Wheel Woolies Brush Kit - 3 Piece : Amazon.com : Automotive

The WW are all made by Baum.

The Adam's variety is slightly different-better.

I can't recall why but those that have had the WW, when used/held side-side - the Adam's variant is the *version* to get....
