What is the speed of your rotary for polishing/compounding?

Showroom told me once in a private message but I guess it got erased because of a time limit. It was great info.

I was wondering what speed you run your rotary's at for polishing and compounding.

The speed is a little product-dependent but these speeds are normaly used by me and the rotary:

Agressive polishing compound (yellow or white pad): 800-1000 rpm

Fine polishing compound (white or better, black waffled pad): 900-1500 rpm

If you use a double orbital like the Cyclo it runs at approx. 2800-3200 rpm and can be used for fine polishing and laying wax.

I run mine pretty much around 1200rpms all the time. If I have some paint that needs some extra work, then I'll bump it up to 1500 or 1700 rpms.

The cyclo is an orbital so it does oscillations per minute, and not rotations per minute. Probably just a typo on your part.
