I have decided I need a machine if I am going to start doing paint correction. Just looking for some advice on what I should get and what you have gotten the best results with. Thanks for all your experienced advice.

Lots of options, just RO: PC, UDM

RO + Forced rotation: Flex, 6040

Rotary: Hitachi, makita, metabo or the flex rotary

For the members here to give their best advice, it would best if state:

your level of experience, any other machines of have or used, what type defects are you trying to correct, it for leisure use or professional, what type of polishes you intend to use. Personally I own a PC7424 and Flex 3401. No experience with rotary and do not intend to buy one since both PC & Flex correct what I need for my cars.

If i had to have one machine only it would be a flex forced rotation random orbital.

It flex forced rotation has enough cut for 90% of the cars out there and will finish hologram free with very little effort.

A rotary has enough cut for 100% of the cars but requires effort or a finer polish to finish hologram free.

A random orbital, PC, UDM etc has enough cut for only 50% of the cars out their but will finish hologram free every time.

If you only plan on doing light correction and do mini-details then the PC, UDM is the way to go.

If you will get really poor quality faded cars with scratches, then a rotary is required.

If you will be getting fairly decent cars only with swirls then a flex forced rotation can do everything you require.

I've used PC 7424 and then jumped straight to the Makita 9227. Both were amazing machines. Makita was of course able to cut faster and give slightly better break down of the polishes. But I still felt on edge using it. So I sold it and now am in the search for the Flex!!!
