Has anyone tried using QEW like a regular car wash? I wonder how this would work?

Honestly, any quality car specific soap is going to be fine. Gold Class, NXT, Eagle, Kit, Mothers, Duragloss, etc have all worked fine for me.

QEW is the most gentle car wash soap for wax that I have used but not everyone is comfortable washing with a non-rinsing soap.

I don't agree that any will be fine. I used some cherry wash stuff from Advance Auto and it just took the wax right off. The car would bead nice and be slick, washed it, and nothing. Another member or two had the same problem with the same wash.

I mean fill a bucket with water and QEW. Pre soak the car. Wash with the QEW and water. Then rinse. The same thing you would do with a regular car shampoo except use QEW instead.

QEW doesn't produce much suds even when used like it was intended.

I'm just wondering what QEW would work like this way. QEW has all the qualities you look for in a soap. It is slick, cleans well but is gentle on the wax/sealant, lots of lube to prevent marring, and leaves an excellent shine. It does all this without a pre rinse and final rinse. I would think adding a hose and a pre soak and final rinse would make it even better.

I have been using QEW for about a year and have never tried using it like a regular car shampoo. If I can get another hose wash in this year I think I will give it a try.

I figured that is what you meant, just making sure.

Hey, its worth a shot!

I find that Pinnacle's car wash takes off a good amount of Souveran wax. My car comes out squeeky clean but the slickness is greatly reduced. It's still one of my fave washes but I always intend on putting on a coat of wax after I use it. I find NXT a close second in terms of sudsiness and cleaning ability but is gentler on my wax. Gold Class, Mother's Cali Gold and Trigger Wash are also gentle on the wax.

Car Wash Concentrates:

A good quality car wash provides a slightly alkaline pH-7.1 and balanced blend of active biodegradable ingredients, to provide lubrication to prevent scratching, to lift and encapsulate dirt, road grime and oils.

With conditioners to maintain the shine without stripping the paint of essential oils (the way detergents do) and dispersing them in the rinsing process, warm water (not hot) will improve the cleaning abilities of wash concentrates.

Chemically, what is the difference between dishwashing detergent, car-specific cleanser, and the non-rinsing QEW? I wonder if it's merely an issue of dilution to different levels...

I use carbrite wax and wash ab I found it to have a nice scent it foams VERY well and lift off dirt great I can send you a sample if you want..
