what is a good car wash that wont take off alot of my wax?

i have been using z7 car wash for quite some time and i really like it . before i only used it on zainoed cars but now that i use other products like megs nxt,#16,p21s etc, it seems to take some of it off. so is this z7 wash a harsher wash than some others? i will be using it on my new bmw that will have klasse twins and pinnace souveran on it and i want a mild car wash that cleans good and gives a good shine but doesnt take any of my wax off. any reccomendations? i heard nxt wash it pretty good.
 
EINSZETT Perls Shampoo, I think it's the best there is. The foaming action isn't above normal but the slickness and protection it provides while washing is. Worth every penny!
 
allright so which one should i get. i limited it down to nxt wash or EINSZETT wash. the einszett wash i am leaning towards but everyone says it has strong cleaning power. will this affect my waxes and sealants? which would be considered more mild EINSZETT or nxt?

You are right about that! I've got 8 or 9 different washes. A few have been relegated to wheel wash only.



For a locally available wash the NXT isn't bad; it is the best product in the NXT line IMHO.



Perls is awesome...after 1 use it is my favorite to use when I have a sealant on the car. I also like the Sonus, but give the nod to Perls.



When I have a carnuba LSP my favorite car wash is the Pinnacle, but it is pretty pricey. P21S is almost as good and a lot more reasonable price wise.



I think you'll be fine if you use any of the above at the proper concentration. I used NXT at triple strength and it still didn't strip much off when I really wanted it too, LOL. IMO many of the issues with a wash removing an LSP are because the concentration of the wash is too strong; obviously there are exceptions but we've all been guilty of making the wash (or any cleaning solution) a bit too strong.



I also have become a QEW fan. It works great when your options are limited.
 
1Z Perls :xyxthumbs

An really excellent wash and protectant enhancer. This is the only car shampoo that I have ever used that rinses clean and after drying makes vehicle look like you just QD'd. Wonderful product.



High water pressure will make Perls suds like crazy also.
 
allright you all like EINSZETT perls but will this strip a lot of caranuba lasp or sealant? that is my main concern, everything else comes after that
 
If your just waxed your car last week no, except for the the layer that has been degraded. If your car is in need of a waxing, on its last leg after several weeks, any vehicle wash or just plan water will remove that small residual protection.



Let's put this into a real world perspective. If a good wash (vehicle) will remove your wax, what do you thank the stronger environment assaults will do (i.e. acidic rain).



Try both of these suggestions. 1Z ($8) and NXT ($6).
 
Honestly, any quality car specific soap is going to be fine. Gold Class, NXT, Eagle, Kit, Mothers, Duragloss, etc have all worked fine for me.



QEW is the most gentle car wash soap for wax that I have used but not everyone is comfortable washing with a non-rinsing soap.
 
NXT says on the back that it is good for removing wax. But the other stuff most autoparts places carry the deep crystal wash doesn't say it removes the wax. Don't know how true that is but thought I'd say something.
 
I think technique is more important than product:



Use the recomended amount of soap, mixed up well, more isn't better

soak the car before you start, and frequently while washing

wash GENTLY, don't scrub

rinse mitt and keep adding water to make suds, frequently

rinse every panel as soon as washed, work from top down



IMO all 'dedicated' car wash soaps are pretty good products

#00 is the gentlest car wash that I have used. It is very lubricating, and sort of sudsy. It's my fave on the Aurora, but isn't really strong enough for the daily drivers.
 
IMO-The gentlest carwash soap is JOHNSON'S BABY SHAMPOO, Have been using it for about 2 years. Never had a problem with it.
